B. English IS the official language of our country, only an idiot or someone getting paid to say it would dispute this; just because you heard someone say it on TV does not cancel out reality and

B. The only reason anyone would come to this country illegally is the pay; they care nothing about our country itself. If this doesn't bother you than you are without an ounce of patriotism. And the reason our country is able to pay it's citizens so well is that we put our money back in the system, Simple capitalism. These people take the money and send it back home. Why else do you think the president of Mexico keeps meeting with Bush to make it easier for his own people to leave and most importantly

D. Don't be a racist; think of all the other people that have it worse than the Mexcians in Mexico, like the Phillipinos and the Bolivians and the Afrcians. Think they'll go to Mexico? Think again, they have much stricter immigration policies than us (and so does every other country, actually). Better make room for everyone else who needs your cash.

His point is that an increasing number of people, legal or otherwise, are speaking Spanish in this country. It's not too much of a stretch from there to say that perhaps given the large quantity of Spanish-speaking Americans, that either or neither could be considered our national language.

It's extremely arrogant and narrow-minded to say the only reason someone would come to America is for the pay. What about human rights violations, political reasons, etc? You don't know the reasoning behind every legal or illegal immigration. And it's ridiculous to assume you do. Disagreeing with anyone, the accepted norm, the conservatives, the liberals, your mom or whomever encompasses the very ideals of American society. It's not unpatriotic for anyone to question anything.

And I'm struggling to find one portion of fr0g's post that was remotely racist.
