Its been well over a week since I've said anything remotely negative to you, and since there's a good chance of me living in Ireland at some point in the near or distant future, your post does, in fact, effect me as well.

Besides, I said please... that's downright polite.

ah, so you now own the rights to ireland?

i suppose since they have a national health system, it would be on topic, if your point was to compare how they make a socialist ideal like...health care for every citizen, work...resulting in a more appealing place to live, especially since they have tighter requirements for citizenship... than a country that does not care about the health of it's citizens, unless they are illegal, too lazy to work for a living or listed in the forbes 500...

rather than an excuse to toss in an insulting jibe...apparantly you're not above that, pity...

Uh... what?

I just dont want to live in the same country as you.

And from what I've heard, they don't have nationalized healthcare.

Well, from my experience on the Emerald Isle, if you don't like immigrants, you won't like Ireland (or at least Dublin) much. One of the reasons I love the city so much is the incredibly rich diversity of people walking down their streets, even moreso than a lot of American cities. I'd walk through the city center and hear 8 different languages over the span of 3 minutes. Personally, I enjoy that type of thing. But personally, I think the states should be more open and accessible to foreign cultures too.

Then again, thats Dublin, if you go to the rural areas of the country, I'm sure its another story entirely.

but they do require an income limit, and written proof from any place a non irish citizen is hired onto, to verify there was no irish national available for that job...why can't america implement something like that?

rather than a nation that encourages poor people, to stay poor, focus on raising the status of those already here.

foreign culture is good, but illegal's getting rights, that honest working american citizens(regardless of age, race or creed) can't; because they make more than eighteen hundred a month?

...at two thousand a month, that's too much to qualify for anything, but with(necessary) bills ranging about, the welfare system's maximum income allowed...something needs to be done to help those who are too poor to save anything for the future of themeselves and family, can't afford healthcare, childcare, and are considered lucky to find anything for rent under 700?

but people who have no care to work, gettting to live high off the hog...and rewarded for having more children with more money, foodstamps and guaranteed medical...maybe i should quit my job and have another baby?

something is wrong with america...as it is today...whether it's the government that doesn't care, or the people who've become apathetic, content to settle for whatever scraps are tossed...it's, priorities seem, skewed to the needs of the average american...as a married couple, we enjoy working, and i'd go insane with any more children!

why do they only reward people for not working, honestly and having oodles of children, in an already overpopulated...world?

For the love of god, I can't take it anymore. You whine too much.

Stop glorifying other countries just because you're unhappy with your own situation. Yes, on paper the immigration laws seem tight and strict - on PAPER. In reality, it's not PERFECT. Written proof from any place a non irish citizen is hired onto, verifying there is no Irish National available for that job?
I don't think so.

Since Ireland is a member of the EU, we not only have local moochies, but we have moochies from former commie countries (Romania, Poland etc etc) coming in legally (because they're members of the EU also) and claiming benefits. Yes, lazy people living off other people's well earned money (42% monthly, no less!) exists here too!

I could go on, but it's pointless. You're just going to whine more. The beauty of living in America (and indeed, Ireland) is that there are plenty of OPPORTUNITIES - and it sounds that all you like to do is earn shit every month, sit on your fat ass, and whine and moan how shitty the country you're living in is, how it's ripping you off and how you would move to another place if you have the chance.

Really, Jordyn, wake up and smell the crushed shamrocks. You're just whiny. Full stop.

"You will need to prove that you have particular skills or qualifications required by your employer and that no Irish citizen or EU national could do that job in your place. You must have the work permit before you start work. It is an offence to work without one."

"Ireland's health care system is modern and efficient. It is also free, if you don't count the taxes that pay for it all. Everyone resident in Ireland is entitled to free public health coverage. The level of free coverage depends on your economic health - the poorer it is, the higher your level of coverage. There are two categories of public health coverage. Once you are resident in Ireland, you are automatically entitled to one or the other."

Why do people think in this fucking day and age that something can be free?

Free = paid for out the ass by heavy taxation. PERIOD.

some facts, about america's health care - 05-02-06

it's not a pretty picture...

http://www.unitedhealthfoundation.or...erNations.html

this is an interesting comparison that many nations do have better healthcare systems, most are...healthier than americans, and have some form of national healthcare; to the best of my knowledge.

"Of the nearly 46 million Americans without health insurance, nearly one-quarter or more than 10 million—are children."

http://www.aflcio.org/issues/healthcare/whatswrong/

"Cuts of this magnitude in health coverage for low-income families are unprecedented,” stated Leighton Ku, a senior fellow at the Center. “The ripple effects of these cuts will be felt across the states. Most of the people who lose public coverage will become uninsured. Burdens also will increase on public and private hospitals and clinics that provide some care to the uninsured (often after untreated health problems have developed into more serious health conditions).”

“The cuts also will mean fewer federal matching dollars going into the states,” Ku added. A state loses up to $4 in federal matching funds for every dollar that it cuts state Medicaid funding and up to $7 in federal matching funds for every dollar it cuts state SCHIP expenditures."

http://www.cbpp.org/12-22-03health-pr.htm

"This paper reports changes in job-based health insurance from spring 2002 to spring 2003. The cost of health insurance rose 13.9 percent, the highest rate of increase since 1990"

i guess oil isn't the only, rising costs in america today?

my complaints are concerning the healthcare system and a valid concern, for "46 million americans", ten million of them, children... by a country that's presented as the best, of free worlds...how can a "camelot" have such, disregard for the health of it's citizens?

Uhm, in my research into what few guest workers are legally allowed in this nation, it is also a requirement that the company first attempt to have the job filled by an american. These jobs are usually high skill jobs, in which case the worker only wants to get some experience abroad then return home.

The majority of illegals aren't gaining legal employment, and their employers aren't abiding by already enacted laws either. You can blame this on the system, if you'd like, but the blame should be placed on the employers who are breaking laws that ARE INDEED in place.

As for illegals getting welfare and whatnot... how can one apply for welfare or or social security without a social security number? Explain how these illegals are living free. In my line of work, I meet a LOT of mexican immigrants, some are probably illegal, and they work HARD. I've never met a mexican who was content to take handouts, they work harder than any other minority, and most white people I've known. The people benefiting from welfare and the like are people born and raised here who think they are entitled to handouts, and I think everyone involved in this conversation agrees that those people are lazy, and those systems need to be drastically changed.

You can quote oasis.gov.ie all you want ... christ, what part of 'The Law is PERFECT ON PAPER' do you not understand? There are plenty of Chinese nationals coming here under the pretense of studying, only to work illegally 80 hours a week for minimum wage. That's just one example. Plenty of others. I hate to repeat myself, but you really truly are an idiot. Go ahead quote oasis.gov.ie or whatever website you come across ... I live here. I know what it's really like.

And thankfully, you'll never end up here.

you call me an idiot, when you were WRONG, concerning the legalities your country requires for, honest people who want to change their citizenship, legally???

it's nice to know you're a proponent of an illegal workforce, and seem even proud that your country(if you're really from there)doesn't do anything about it, but i'm sure they find it as convenient as our own, government does...i wouldn't complain either, if there was a national healthcare plan in america, for american citizens.

Quote:

that's a good question...

"The two Silverio anchor babies generate $1,000 per month in public welfare funding for the family. Flor gets $600 a month for asthma. Healthy Cristian gets $400. While the Silverios earned $18,000 last year picking fruit, they picked up another $12,000 for their two "anchor babies."

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=43275

with a free 12,000 dollars a month for my two children, born in america...i wouldn't have to worry about healthcare, would i?

but being legal and choosing to stop at two children, i'm punished with no healthcare for my little fifth generation, american citizens?

Thats an interesting story/website you linked, unfortunately flipping through it, it appears to be extremely biased.

Is that what bothers you Jordyn? The fact that someone else is getting free money and you arent? There's another nation that has nationalized healthcare too, its a lot closer than Ireland... its Canada. Why don't you and your commie family move up there and leave this country to those of us who prefer to earn our own way, rather than get a handout.

no,

i'm bothered by the fact that i can not afford healthcare for children, in a nation that's renowned for it's medical services and more than eager to hand it over to anyone that falls of a boat or sneaks across the southern border...

i find it frustrating that people who would rather not work and live off the system have an easier time, and are encouraged to do so, while the traditional american family, that enjoy their jobs, are stuck having to choose between sacrificing family to make enough to afford healthcare, or working as much as they can, allowing time to spend time with their family and not have healthcare, praying that their children do not get sick or fall out of a tree.

it's preposterous that a government that uses the "american family values" in their, platform, really show no regard for their, symbol...letting forty six million people, including children go without any sort of healthcare?

if you think it's wonderful the government representing america currently, let's the people who are not rich enough to afford healtcare, and legal enough to trace their family back through america for generations...worry about healthcare every time a child goes out to play, while showering it on non americans...please, explain why you think it's wonderful that such a large portion of american workers can not afford to keep their families healthy, but their taxes go to keep non americans healthy?

or like most of your arguements are you using posted opinions to subtly insult the person, rather than offer anything constructive to the arguement...you almost did, but than turned it into an illegal alien bashing, do you ever grow tired of that?

i'm begining to think you're an illegal mexican, that would explain why you support the government, and their leniency for dishonest people.

it must be nice to not worry about anything, yourself...but that's no reason to look down on families that just want to make sure they can afford to keep their children, healthy...and honestly work.

that's becoming impossible in america today, and some, proponents are so absolute in their, zeal...that like the government today, if it's not in front of their nose...it's not there...no wonder bush was elected...with people like you in america...

why should i have to move to have healthy children, when america is supposed to be such a wonderful nation...for all?

or, is that the idea...encourage all the...low income, middle income families to move out of nation for healtcare, leaving only the rich and illegals to work for them in america?

america is becoming mexico, poor canada!

no matter what you will end up paying in one way another. Joe the working stiff with no health insurance goes to the emergancy room. he gets treated regardless (oaths and all that you know). hospital needs to cover cost some how whamo you get charged more which means your insurance gets charged more which means you pay more. Of course had Joe had national health insurance he may have had a regular check up which costs around $100 to $150.00 and maybe solved his problem. But he didnt so he went to the emergency room cost atleast $1000.00. In reality your paying more without national healthcare.

Hope
