Exactly. If a kid kills someone else, its not because of a video game. Its because of poor parenting or one fucked up noggin. This fact is so simple and blatant, I don't see why the politicians can't understand it.

I used to manage an computer shop that was among other things, a lan and wan gaming centre. kids come in from all directions around the shop some from the same villiage, some from surrounding villiages to play games against and with eachother, and with and against other people on the internet. a popular thing there was tournaments, which are still run there by the current manager of the centre. the kids there work in teams together to outwit and outmanouver the other teams in different games. yeah sure the games are violent, people getting shot and such, but they really work well in teaching the kids to work together and play as a team. i've seen kids who hate eachother's guts work together in games to victory. they play covert operations games such as rainbow six which really really really need you to work as a team and they do it so well. from the loading of the game where they work together deciding which kit to take, all the way through to purging a village or building of terrorists though precise attacks. and how old are these kids? from 6 up. all ages work together as teams. it's great. another game they play alot is battlefield 1942 and its mods and successors and i've heard kids come in the next day saying they read up about the battles in history books because theyve played the maps such as omaha beach or operation battleaxe or the battle of the bulge, the battle of britain etc...

strategy games such as command and conqueor and the all time best, savage really really help kids work together. their skills with pcs help them so much.

one kid whos 12 years old took it into his own hands to learn SQL so he could set up a server for a private MMORPG server.

from my eyes over these years i have seen kids been drawn together. not apart. and they would rather beat eachother on computer games than in real life.

computer games don't make kids violent. real life makes kids violent.
