I think if she chooses Barak Obama as a running mate I'm all over it.

I'd love to have a woman or a black man in the whitehouse. However, I want it to be the RIGHT woman or black man, and I don't think Hillary is either. Ok, I'm CERTAIN she isn't a woman.

I dont see why we should have a woman or blakc man simply for the sake of having a woman or black man. If one was there and happpend to be the best candidate that made the most sense then so be it... but saying we should have one for diversity is not in the best interests of the country.

That being said Hillary is too much of a slick politician that I cannot discern her real motives. I do know she is against the 2A and is a bit of a politically correct liberal, that makes me weary of her. She is also against violent video games.

My reasoning for it is that the first would would break down the barrier. I think there are probably a lot of good female and minority candidates out there, who wouldn't run simply because they think they have no chance. Getting that first foot in the door might inspire people who never would have run to begin with. I'd just like to see some fresh directions being taken in Washington.

Unfortunatly the only blacks who would really run for president will be the ones you dont like Al Sharpton for example or Jesse Jackson. Hillary is not going to make a good president because shes too liberal and too feminist. Do you think we need MORE affrimitive action style programs? Thats the kind of politico shes is. Bill was at least from the gutter originally and was a bubba and had a small conservative streak, Hillary is pure college campus liberal through and through.

I was off on a side tangent about her, but figured it could be tied into what you said in that you know we shouldnt elect any old woman or black man just to set a standard... it would be bad for us... but then again I havent enjoyed voting in the last2 elections either...so I unno. We need MORE candidates than just the dems and repubs.

Obama is a joke. The only reason he is pushed to the front right now was because the demos needed to combat the fact that Bush had put Condi and Colon out and embarrassed the left wing after they proclaimed themselves to be the non-racists.

Obama is highly managed and very image-built. I doubt there is really much to him other than that.

I would too, but sadly he isn't as popular or wide known as clinton. he doesn't have the history and publicity that she does, and to run for president he'd really need it.

I dont know what it is... he gives me a bad vibe. Like he is too conditioned and preened by the democrats. Ya know? There is soemthing wierd about literally being the token black candidate from a side. Its just wierd.

Not to mention like Kerry he is quite wishy washy on a lot of subjects, gun control, immigration, etc.

He is big time pro affirmitive action, and welfare. In his last election he was talking about extending welfare benefits to immagrants. Most of the time when he uses that word he doesnt qualifiy it, so I can only assume it means border jumpers.

No idea who this Obama person is but if he's pro-welfare I dislike him already. Use the tax dollars for something the whole country can benefit from rather than just the lazy.

And both Hillary and Condi have said mulitiple times they wouldn't run. I think the republicans need a household name if they want to keep the seat in the top office. Juliani (sp?) wouldn't be a bad choice (imo), but as he's not much liked by the ultra conservatives so I can't see that happening.

Bush is hated by ultra conservatives too... The Rpubs will vote for whoever gets put in there quite simply because they dont want a democrat elected.

I think it was Zell Miller who spoke at the republican convention, I dont recall seeing Barrak, although I didnt watch the whole thing. Barrak is such a party line brainless oaf that I doubt he would have the testicular fortitude to do anything remotely middle of the road.

You're right, I was thinking of Zell Miller, Obama actually gave the keynote address at the DNC.
