Please tell others, and if you can, send out the flyers... http://consensus.net/walkout.html "Personally, I'm in favor of democracy, which means that the central institutions of society have to be under popular control. I really wish something like this would make a difference.. however, I don't forsee enough people gathering to make a difference. Maybe the news will run an afternoon segment on the rally. But when it's over, Bush will still be in power ((help us all)), and the war will continue. It's sad, but true. a forced, perfect state

I know it can be a little inconvenient, but I think it's worth considering some serious thought over. I just wanted to get the word out. If you remember back in march 2003, the biggest war protests ever happened. Plus I think a lot more people are fed up this time and even if it doesn't change the mind of that dunce in the White House, it could make a lot of other people stop and think. Truth to power baby! I appreciate it, like Lord-IVD noted though; not everyone can afford to do that and not enough people probably will do it anyway. It's a shame because we could make a difference if we could get enough people to do something like this but that is highly unlikely.
I'm currently unemployed so I guess everyday is a walkout for me. de vagorum ordine dico vobis iura

I would find it hilarious if everyone just walked out from all the shops/stores/restaurants where I live. (\ /)

And I find your notion that it's the left that keeps people from working hilarious. | The only people who work FOR the gov't are the people actually employed by the gov't.
This strike, and that's what it is, is clearly being pushed by the left. What if everybody joins in? Injured people who show up at vacant hospitals will just be SOL. What about the police? Or something more realistic, like what the USAir employees did on Christmas Eve? I hope everyone who joins in this stupid little walk out gets fired on the spot.

Sorry Syn, but your probably most likely not going to see your buddy Pat Buchanan banging on a bunch of drums out there and wearing a beanie. But since you care so much for people getting their hospital treatment and putting cops on the street Synikul, we'd be more than happy to have you take part in a protest against an administration that slashed healthcare and cut funding for 88,000 uniformed police officers in 2004 alone! Seriously, it'll be fun! Maybe you'll actually smile once or twice... "Personally, I'm in favor of democracy, which means that the central institutions of society have to be under popular control. Are you referring to the Clinton "100,000 cops" program? In the original bill that funding was only temporary. It decreased every year after it started by design. Bush didn't cut it, he just didn't refund it because cops are supposed to be under locol control.

Truth to power baby! | True. The only respite from all this is the knowlegde that the bumbling idiot cannot be re-elected next term. Although, I'd love to see his ass thrown out, it's not going to happen unless he screws something major.. ((like lying to all of America about WMD's to start an unjustified war wasn't enough reason to toss him out.))
I love the idea of making a stand and showing that we're all pissed. But I do see one point from Syn, the people who hold important jobs.. such as the doctors, nurses, police, pilots, etc... yes, they would make a great addition to the cause with their status, but would harm more people in the process.
I guess, as long as Bush doesn't start WWIII, I'm keeping my head low till next election where I'll be throwing a "No more Bush Party" ... you're all invited. a forced, perfect state
