Several French municipalities governed by communist and left-wing majorities are considering naming a street or a square after Yasser Arafat.

I use to live on Easy St, people would always say "is your life easy living on Easy St?" I bored of that fast. What does that have to do with this thread? That people are pretty stupid. Wow a street, I mean even if you liked him, a street, cause it's every mans dream to run a nation so the French name streets after you.

It all comes down to stature and regard. And apparently the french held Arrafat in high regard. How many people do you think its going to piss off if the french give Arrafat the supposed honor of having anything named after him be it a build, street, block, or square.

Or you could have another war of names, calling things freedom, but go further than just "freedom fries" and actually reduce imports from France instead of increasing them.

Like, all those streets, educational institutions and the occasional city, instead of Lafayette, you could call them Freedom. Like, look at the Statue of Liberty, I mean, freedom. Greater Lafayette will become Greater Freedom.
