I have some calculations to do, but I have a series of BLS reports showing job losses vs. job gains, and one can see how they add up. Bismarck once said "Fools say they like to learn from their experiences, but I prefer to learn from the experience of others."

I'm going to doublecheck a few times, but from 1st quarter of 2001 through 2nd quarter of 2003, there's a job loss discrepancy of 3,965,000. Bismarck once said "Fools say they like to learn from their experiences, but I prefer to learn from the experience of others."

I'm going to compare that to Clinton, and try to find data on the last 2 quarters of 2003, and the finished months of 2004. Bismarck once said "Fools say they like to learn from their experiences, but I prefer to learn from the experience of others."

What link did you get that report from (the report expired)? Bismarck once said "Fools say they like to learn from their experiences, but I prefer to learn from the experience of others."

Several major changes affect the Current Population Survey (household) data
These include the use of new population controls that reflect Census 2000 results and new information about net migration, the use of new questions about race and Hispanic ethnicity, the introduction of new industry and occupation classifications, improvements in the seasonal adjustment processes, and the annual update of seasonal adjustment factors. For all data series, these changes affect the comparability of the January 2003 estimates with those for earlier months. Additional detail is provided in the release at http://www.bls.gov/cps/cps_notice02a.htm
More detailed information about the revisions is available in the article "Revisions to the Current Population Survey Effective in January 2003 (PDF 133K " http://www.bls.gov/cps/cps_notice02.htm Bismarck once said "Fools say they like to learn from their experiences, but I prefer to learn from the experience of others."

Hmm, also shows a civilian force participation rate going from 67.2% to 65.9% from January 2001 to February 2004. Bismarck once said "Fools say they like to learn from their experiences, but I prefer to learn from the experience of others."

and 8,170,000 unemployed in Feb, 2004 compared to 5,997,000 in Jan, 2001. Bismarck once said "Fools say they like to learn from their experiences, but I prefer to learn from the experience of others."

Seems from the rest of the report that unemployment figures, including part-time, number of unemployed, and even unemployment rate, have gotten steadily worse since January 2001. What links that can mean with Bush tax cuts, recession, etc., I have no clue, but the data IS that the job market has gotten worse. Bismarck once said "Fools say they like to learn from their experiences, but I prefer to learn from the experience of others."

When I looked at that gross jobs gain/gross jobs lost it had a major amount of jobs gained in the later part of Clinton's term, and then a steady drop when Bush took over..
Yet the same thing happened(to a slightly lesser degree) with jobs lost.
Very interesting. (\ /)

Further, job openings have gone down by more than 1/3rd since Bush took office. Bismarck once said "Fools say they like to learn from their experiences, but I prefer to learn from the experience of others."

No, there are more jobs now than there were before, and unemployment is 5.6%.
Now how can there be more jobs now, if the Democrats claim we have lost 3 million jobs? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. | |
