God, you're dumb. When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

Oh. And just to be clear for your blinded and quite stupid mind let me reiterate---
""Yes. Single votes make a difference. Believing that this is untrue is a sign of nihilism.""
""
Voting for an independant will be a wasted vote.""
Out of context it fits your neat little implication that it is paradoxical and yet if one has the brains of a gnat they can see exactly what I mean. This would imply that you do not have the brains of a gnat.
""You can be as PC as you wish to be and yet the truth will remain. At no time in the near future shall a black man or woman be elected President... The difference between us is that you are a dreamer whilst I am a realist. ""
""With only a black man and a hispanic man to run against on the dem side she is sure to be the Democratic candidate.... she has a damn good chance of securing the first women presidency.""
Any idiot once again can easily see that in my first statement black man or woman means black man or BLACK woman you befuddled little panda. Instead of being redundant I had thought you would easily see that. You seem to be such a fuckernutter for details As such it in no way detracts from my original statement but ADDS to it. A white woman has a better chance of winning an election than a black man or woman or even a hispanic man or woman. Does that come across???
""We all know that you are in fact nihilistic. So that makes complete sense. You can very well throw your vote away.""
I bet you took that seriously eh?? Someone like you would You know? Someone with no sense of humor.... hell.... no sense of reasoning either
""The difference between us is that you are a dreamer whilst I am a realist... So dream up whatever world you wish. ""
Are you a realist??? I would beg to differ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. S.O.D. All the bickering aside, I still think you're wrong. I still think America would rather have a man in office than a woman, even if that man is black.

I don't think so. I think that when the chips come down people will lay sexism aside before racism. Women, white women, were allowed to vote long before black folk. I just did some reading on Wikipedia, because I thought your statement was incorrect, here's what I discovered.
Under the topic The Fifteenth Amendment The Fifteenth Amendment (1870) is one of the Reconstruction Amendments passed after the civil war.
This amendment prohibits the states or the federal government from using a citizen's race, color, or previous status as a slave as a voting qualification. Its basic purpose was to enfranchise former slaves. But it was not really until the Voting Rights Act in 1965, almost a century later, that this purpose was actually achieved in all states.
So though it wasnt firmly implemented by the states until the 60's, it was in the constitution in 1870.
Now under Women's Suffrage in wikipedia: In the years before the First World War, Norway (191 and Denmark also gave women the vote, and it was extended throughout the remaining Australian states. Canada granted the right in 1917 (except in Quebec, where it was postponed until 1940), as did the Soviet Union. British women over 30 and all German and Polish women had the vote in 1918 and American women in states that had previously denied them suffrage were allowed the vote in 1920.
They both vary state by state, but if you get right down to actual FEDERAL law, black men were given the right in 1870 and women didnt get it officially until 1920.
Obviously this is flawed, because federal law differs from state law, plus you have local special interest groups getting in to fuck things up too, but I'm just trying to demonstrate that your "white women were allowed to vote long before black folk" statement isn't necessarily true.

The emperor does not have any clothes on. If you actually had an explanation for how these two ideas don't contradict each other, even a poor one, you would supply it as you attempt to argue the other points. As such, one can only include that what you mean is that you care more about maintaining and reasserting your opinion than about being able to explain or justify them in a logical manner. Quote:

Although past experience has shown this to be optimistic to the point of foolishness, I'll attempt to explain once again to you some of the flaws in your reasoning;
- A fr0g already mentioned, blacks were able to vote a full half century before women in the US.
- I've almost given up hope of your being able to understand this point, but a single vote is going to be wasted regardless. What you fail to understand is that your vote doesn't matter except where you consider it worth the principle. As such, if you're going to vote on principle, the general "you" can do better than to lend support to another formulated, contrived politician more interested in supporting the party than in the people. Yet it was not until 1965 that black votes were actually tallied and registered. In almost all states up until than black men and women(black women so DM does not go off on another stupid rant which drives this whole thread into a frenzy of off-topic idiocy) could not vote. Women(white women once again so DM does not have a hussy fit) were able to vote in almost all states in the 20's and all states by the 30's.
Federal law also states that we can bear arms and yet each and every state has its own laws allowing or disallowing this constitutional right.
I would expect the future to follow historical trends and base my opinion on this. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. S.O.D. | Hey, stupid. ALL politicians support thier parties. Because the people who support them are part and parcel of that party. You really do not get that do you. Politics is all probably pretty mysterious to you. A principle is just a fancy way of saying "opinion". Quote: |

How's that? I would think that the conciseness of the point made it easier to ignore. My saying that your statement is idiotic is pretty easy to gloss over and move on with; you're the one who tried, foolishly, to make an issue out of it.
It becomes increasingly ironic that you criticized my sentence structure, incidentally.
Brief history lesson for you: Blacks did indeed vote, in quite heavy numbers, after the passing of the early civil rights amendments. At one point during the reconstruction era, fully 40% of the Mississippi state legislature, for instance, was made up of blacks. It was only after the Compromise of 1877, after the narrow victory of Hayes over Tilden, that reconstruction ended, white terrorism against blacks (mainly in the South, but in other parts of the country as well) increased, and laws began to pass that limited through various means the black vote. However, while they certainly didn't enjoy full voting rights, some blacks continued to vote even up until the 1960's, particularly in Northern states.
In the future, I advise reading a history book first and giving history lessons second, rather than the other way round. When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. So basically because blacks were able to vote for 3 years, 1867-1870, I am wrong?? Neat. Full voting privilidges were not given to blacks until the 60's. They were hampered and NOT given full voting rights until that era. Whereas women, white women for your comfort, were given full voting rights and were unhampered by any laws in the 20's.
You should read your history my friend. 3 years of unhindered voting does not make full privilidged voting rights. Once the federal soldiers left all thier rights fled as well.
Until Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act in 1965 blacks had a miserable time of voting irregardless of any federal law on the books including the 15th ammendment.
Now though any United States citizen who wishes may vote unhindered by any state law even those still on the books.
So. In the 1920's white women were given voting rights that were unhindered by any state laws whereas blacks were unable to vote due to statelaws hindering thier votes until 1965.

Yeah, it comes out that there was a federal law allowing blacks to vote in the 1870s, and not one allowing women until the 1920s.
The point isn't how miserable of a time they had, or how difficult it was for them to get to the polls, the point is that you said women were allowed to vote long before blacks, which isnt necessarily true. Own up to it.

| Your point is taken and in that context yes I am incorrect.
However before the 1960's states could make up any laws regarding voting registration without any federal mandates interfering. As such all the states but 2 in the 1870's made registration all but impossible for blacks. Without registration irregardless of ANY federal law they could not cast a vote. In the 1920's women were given the right and no state in the US interfered at all with that right. Most were able to bypass the tests given to blacks upon entering a registrars office.
In 1965 Federal Law prohibited testing for voter registration which made access to registration easier for blacks because states could not interfere.
Following historical precedent I have based my prior opinion on this amongst other choice decisions based on race throughout our illustrious past
