There is a widely circulated rumor that Cheney will be dumped as the 2004 running mate of Georgie W. Rumored replacements are.... Guliani? Rice? Powell?

I seriously doubt Powell, as he and Bush seem to have too many conflicts. Rice would be an interesting choice as she would be the first black VP as well as the first woman VP.

I think Guliani would be the best choice for the Rep. party for a couple reasons. First of all with the convention being held in New York, with Guliani you couldn't go wrong. People love him and it would further Georgie's 'war on terrorism' effort. Also, I think it would set up a decent Guliani/Rice ticket in '08.

Rudy Giuliani will be the most sensible choice, it will give Bush the electoral votes for New York. Of course having Condoleeza Rice on the ticket would really cut into the Democratic base vote.

That was the standard of his day. The Huns had been opressed and enroached on by various tribes and kingdoms, including the Roman Empire, and they acted within the expected mode of behaviour of the day, and were infamous only for being so good at it. That doesn't mean that Atilla's actions were good, but it does mean he wasn't quite so evil as someone doing those things today, and certainly not as evil as many warlords of the 20th century, like Stalin, Hitler, or Mao.
