I think Michael Moore works for Bush. He gives Republicans an easy (and valid) target for accusations of distortion and 'disingenuity,' thereby allowing them to take the moral high ground. When you allow Bush to take the moral high ground you are probably doing something wrong.
'If we take in our hand any volume; of divinity or school metaphysics, for instance; let us ask, Does it contain any abstract reasoning concerning quantity or number? No. Does it contain any experimental reasoning, concerning matterof fact and existence? No. Commit it then to the flames: for it contains nothing but sophistry and illusion.'
'The heart of man is made to reconcile the most glaring contradictions.'

Moore is so out of touch with reality, that the rest of America can see Kerry and Daschle as his idealogical soul mates, and it helps to define them for what they really are, anti-American socialists. The more he talks, the better for us.

Michael Moore makes films about America. he obviously worries deeply about it. Of all the things you can call him I think 'anti-American' is one of the least effective. You only call him that because he isn't a jingoistic lapdog like yourself. if I were you I would stick to the line about how he likes to bend the truth, it's far more effective.

Hating capitalism, religion, and the American military is a good start on being anti-American.
Gimli says it best:
John Rhys-Davies made an appearance on Scarborough Country the other day... though I didn't get to see it, I did read the transcript (which I found via E-nough!) of the interview.
In response to a question from Scarborough about the likelyhood that Michael Moore might be named filmmaker of the year at the Cannes Film Festival, Rhys-Davies had this to say: "Well, you see, the French have a lot of problems internally. And the one unifying factor that they can find in their society is to bash America. So don‘t be surprised by anything the French do. Their society is so troubled and it‘s about 24, 25 years away from major civil war. So you can discount most of what they do."
Later, Rhys-Davies added this: "My beef with him would be this, that, when you knock America, you run a real danger that you will change the perception of the world -- that the world has of America. Right at the moment, the Americans are doing something very, very important and I believe very virtuous. The notion that we could take Iraq, for instance, which has a strong middle class, and turn it right in the middle of Arabia and turn it into a functioning democratic capitalist society and use that to galvanize the rest of the Arab world out of the 13th century is a virtuous vision. And you could disagree with the tactics of it or not, but the vision is admirable. And not to see that is deplorable. Moore is making a fortune out of his anti-Americanism. And I don‘t blame the guy for making a buck, but he‘s not serious."

I thought you right extemists put no credence into celebrity views? Don't MAKE me go for some leftist celebs. I respect Rhys-Davies, but that doesn't make him correct on Iraq.
Oh, and 'the French' don't choose best film of Cannes and the like.

Some celebrities are smarter than others.
