France has dropped from 20th to 30th place among 80 counties measured in the Global Competitiveness Report 2002-2003, released last month by the World Economic Forum. France has dropped 10 places in 1 year and is now 3 places ahead of China.

Also, The United States has the top spot, #1, proving once again that the United States is the best country in the world.

The root of the French droop is has been quoted by the American Trade Chamber in France: "An inflexable work time system, judicially complicated procedures for firing employees, and heavy social charges on enterprises." Translation: stifling government regulation and crippling taxes. Or in even simpler terms: Liberalism.

the 2002/2003 GC Report by the WEF, is based on activitys and figures from 2000-2001.

So, I wonder what the US Position is now considering when sanctioned, the US national Surplus/Debt (according to the report) was the estimated 1.25 Trillion surplus...

but as we all know, this was not the case, and is self evident now, when considering the 6.5 Trillion dollar National debt.

The slump of the NASDAQ and the attacks on the WTC towers have had far greater effect on the economy than the the national debt.

Still, the national debt will go down when more GOP candidates get elected as they will then be able to really make deep cuts in government spending. Dissolving entire agencies of the fed will end the deficiet spending.

Yes, and if the current GOP trend continues, then it will be education and other such programs that will bear the brunt of the cuts.
