I think that abortion is wrong if you are willingly having sex. If you get pregnant you need to suffer the consequences. Put it up for adoption if you aren't ready for a baby. There are lots of people in this world that would love to have a baby but can't.

BUT on the other hand.. what about a little girl who is raped and ends up pregnant? Should she be expected to carry out the 9 months and have the child?

i think there's a lot that could be done that can limit the need for abortion, but it has to start with the youth making the babies and as long as they are left in the dark about the repercussions of irresponsible sex, this will be an issue.

I don't like abortion. I don't agree with many reasons people give for using it. BUT, if its made illegal, then we have a whole host of other problems that will occur. Unsanitary, botched, even fatal surgery that costs the unborn "life" as well as its carrier. Women resulting to being beaten, kicked, or pelted with rocks like in some middle eastern countries. Unimaginable numbers of babies with no one to care for them with any number of special needs conditions. Children born to drug addicts, homeless, prostitues, victims of rape, mentally ill , retarded, or just plain irresponsible youth.

I could see greater possiblities if we lived in a country where child support was absolutely manditory and persued in every case, or if we had socialized medicine and these needy children could be provided for regardless of income. Otherwise, people are forced to make a choice. Sometimes its for selfish reasons and sometimes its simply because they know they can't give this new "life" the very best he/she deserves.

I also think our sex education policies directly play a role in abortion rates. But thats a whole other arguement on whose responsibility that should be.

Here in the US there is one demographic that has a 76% out of wedlock birthrate. They also have a higher then average abortion rate for the same reasons. That demographic thinks this is perfectly acceptable behavior because they expect society to help raise the child and the father isn't held accountable for it. They even brag about, and try to outdo each other to see who can get the most Baby's momma's. And the public School (screw-all) system and the gansta culture feed into that.

You want to solve that problem, teach them self respect, educate them, and make them responsible for their actions.

I see it all the time myself. I hear tales of people auctioning off their kids SSI numbers so someone else can get a fucking tax break.

However, those who really do need the help, often it is not available to them.

I do think education is the key, the more conservative we become in an overly-sexed world, the worse the teen pregnancy issue will get. Open discussion and answering question is the only way to solve that problem.

The more liberal and open the screw-all system becomes the more the teen pregnancy rate goes up.

Ever hear of a rainbow party? There is actually a book that is commonly found in schools that has a target audience of 11-15 year olds that teaches how to have one.

Planned Parenthood lobbies our school system to teach kids how to have sex, how to experiment with it, but doesn't push the consequences of their actions. And the try to prevent abstinence instruction. They even got the ACLU to try and take it to the supreme court on the basis that it's religious based teaching so it doesn't belong in public school.

There was never a book in any of my schools showing how to have whatever that is. I've never heard of anyone that had such a book their schools.

I found it in the middle school in Twin Falls Idaho. Also in Evanston and several in Salt Lake City.

I have family that found it in nebraska, california, washington state, florida, new york, and georgia.

All of them were in public libararies and in middle schools.
