The beaten gates of the town stood wide open, and the tassle of people bustling in and out of town awed her. Growing up in the woods with only her family and friends, so many people were fascinating.
She stopped and read the sign with a smile "traveler beware thy purse, thy neck and thy trust" Dogdon was known to be full of thieves and asassins, many guilds were dominate, and if not for having to meet her uncle, she would never have come to such a disdainful place.
She expertly slid off her horse just outside of the gates, and putting all her belongings in her back, she tied it tightly to the saddle, making sure her scimatar was near quick grip and pulling up her hood to cover her uncommon beauty she approached the tall gates. Nobody barely glanced at her, and only one of the guards eyed her, paying a bit more attention to the magnificent dun than her, and she smiled at the distraction. Her soft hazel eyes quickly absorbing all she could see...

The afternoon sun had begun to wane, fading more into a golden warmth, than the fiery assault of this morning. The play of light through the tumultuous marketplace was ignored by most, an asthetic detail to minute to note, while the myriad dangers of this place swam ever closer. The voices of customers and barkers both rang loud through the air, a background of rage, confusion and subtle manipulation. Sweet to some, but for most, another detail to be ignored.
For this man, it was the same. His senses were attuned on the gates, as was usual for most days, lately. Watching for those irregular travelers, passing through, only to stay a day or two at most, and then they would be gone. No one to question their assault, or disappearance, and he could ask for no more. Blessings were rare in these times, especially for one such as he, lost in an occupation as dangerous as it was exciting.
The life he led was one of bravado and daring flight, dexterous manipulation and ever more tenuous security. Called a thief by some, he chose to think of himself as more of a ... forward-thinker. Acting instead of waiting for life to hand him what is required for survival. Life was difficult enough as is, standing around idle would only lead to further desperation.
And so it went, his eyes flitting from person to person, women, children, and guards alike. All fell under a quick inspection, but it was the same drab landscape as the day before. Townsfolk alike, going about their daily mundane existence, trudging from here to there and back again. Another day, another failure.
"Perhaps not..."
A subtle whisper, barely heard even by him, though the words passed from his own lips. His eyes fell upon the woman, or so he assumed her gender to be. The question was not so easily answered, considering the vague folds of the robe surrounding her. The svelte shape was not to be ignored, however, as well as the brief flash of refracted light from the blade she wore at her waist.
"Challenge offered..."
A low chuckle fills his throat, to fall briefly into the afternoon air.
"Challenge accepted."
Before the words had died, he was sprinting forward, keeping to those scant shadows available to him, ever closer to the apparent target. Perhaps this day would improve after all .... Stupidity is an STD, and DFers are the dirty whores spreading it.

She walked into the city, musing at the large variety of people and the buildings. Stepping back at an obnoxious drunk of a man, and with a wince of distaste, continued looking for the the rusty bull. She nervously reached into her pocket to confirm the sealed letter was tucked safely in the inner pocket, a quick feel up making sure all her belogings were there, tying a few more tightly to her belt.
Seeing the red bull charging a sign she stopped and slipped back her hood. The sun refracted off deep black hair and she nervously shifted feet feeling the stares from several older men. She rested her hand on the hilt and taking a deep breath pressed through the large, heavy oak door. Noticing it covered in gashes from blades. She stepped in as it swung shut omminously. She blinked her wide purple eyes a few times to adjust to the dim atmospher. She looked around the silent room.
She felt the nerves in her stomach pinching and digging, her desire to turn and flee became almost unbearable, she again took a deep breath and remembering what her mother told her, put back her shoulders and walked to the bar. She sat focusing on ignoring the eyes she still felt bore through her back, she could almost feel their eyes piercing the leather hide and thick blue cloak. She sighed a bit in relief hearing conversation again pick up. The large chested bartender walked over and looked her up and down with a toothless smile.
"So pretty, what'll it be?" His voice was deep and condensending.
She though for a few.
"Ale please?" she placed down a few gold and looked back at him with a slight smile.
The aged man just shook his head with an almost fatherly disapproval at the friendly innocence permeating about the bouncy lady at his bar. He eyed the group of dark figures and large cloaked men and walked over with a large ale.
"Sip it slow, and for the sake of all gods child, what are you in here for?"
She went to reach in her pocket and then thinking again took a sip of her ale.
"I need to meet my uncle" she said leaning forward. "He's supposed to meet me here"
The bartender looked over the crowd of men getting rowdier and looked back at her.
"What's his name?"
She shrugged childlike "Mother just calls him the Elf" She noticed a slight look of irritation flash across his face.
"You better hope child that he comes for you before it gets dark." he looked back watching one of his rounder, less pretty barmaids getting a firm smack on the ass and before she could turn a firm grip on her breast, pinning her to another large man still gripping her ass.
"Don't make me come from behind this bar!" His voice made everyone look at him in silence. The barmaid scurried away.
"And this one is for The Elf!" he said in a warning tone.

She looked on in amusement as the bartender sauntered over to the table and scolded the customers. Their reply was a howl of laughter.
She turned back to her drink and sipped it slowly, feeling an unfamiliar burn rush down her throat.
"Careful there. You never know what kinds of things they might slip into their drinks here," a smooth, silky voice said from out of a sudden hush in the tavern.
She set the mug back down on the bar and turned to face the one who had spoken to her. He was a slim gentleman with long white hair pulled back with a bit of cord. His eyes were an endless pit of forest green and his age was imposible to tell from his youthful appearance. He wore a long hooded, deep blue cloak and carried a beautiful, deadly-looking dagger in the side of his belt which had been sheathed in silver casing.
This had to be her uncle, for the man had a very powerful and ancient presence about him. He nodded slightly to her,"I am The Elf whom you have spoken of. Please, come with me."
He extended his elbow for her to take hold of and graciously escorted her out of the tavern. As soon as they departed from the bar, conversation resumed again. i am no longer going to come back to this site. thank for to those i care about for having me here To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. The awed girl forced a gentle smile, she felt darkness emanating from this thick robed man. She shivered slightly the chill passing, leaving her weak kneed. He stopped just outside the door, pulling his hood over his red, sharp eyes observing the bright lit town. He looked to the hot sun and frowned, irritation showing.
It would be a while before dark, he needed to sleep. His eyes shifted back to a natural, but dark brown and looked the girl up and down, imaging what she looked like with out the cloak on and grinned wickedly focusing on her face. A long black tendril curled suggestively at the slight peak of breasts beneath the loose fitting scooped neckline.
"Just like her mother" he thought deliciously, and stepped out into the road. He paused and the eyes glowed red, he looked around sensing unseen eyes watching them leave...

At first, Jilikuil, thought that the creepy man had seen him, hiding behind a musty, only-slightly see-through curtain that was hanging from a wooden post. Jilikuil saw the creepy man's eyes flash red but then the couple kept walking. He heard the creepy man say something about someone's mother but, at this distance, could not make out what the two were talking about.
He moved from his hiding place and walked along the sides of the buildings, stopping only to hide in the shadows that the dilapidated buildings made. He hid whenever the creepy man with the white hair looked around. Jilikuil thought that he was doing a good job, his dark skin helped camouflage him into the shadows.
'But where was Master?' Jilikuil thought. He knew that Master was a far better thief than he. 'Master must be in the crowd somewhere, blending in.'
The Master had motioned at the girl when she had passed through the gates. He probably thought of her as one of his 'challenges.' The Master was always looking for danger, and Jilikuil saw this girls' dagger and the scimitar that her beast had with it. But the girl was tiny, and the two of them could easily overtake her. But then there was the creepy man with the white hair and the glowing red eyes.
'Maybe he's an elf,' Jilikuil thought. 'Master and I DO have a challenge if the man was indeed an elf. But Master was a great fighter.'
Jilikuil smiled again as he slid into another shadow, ever trailing the unsuspecting duo. >:-) To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

He followed each, wandering after with an easy saunter, keeping to the shadows without a conscious thought. They seemed to bend and focus upon him, seeking him out for their protection. He chuckled mildly as his fingers idly stroked the ring on his left hand ... a "gift" from years past, it still served him well.
Keeping his eyes on the pair ahead, and the one following clumsily behind, he spared a moment to regard the setting sun. Even for him, where darkness offered his most keen opportunities, night in this place was a dangerous time, where the hunter often became the prey. He kept this in mind as he continued after them all.
"Ah well", he thought, "it could be worse ... I could be bored in the tavern doing nothing but harrassing the same whores ... variety -is- the spice of life, they say."
Another chuckle and he moved on, curious but far too cautious to comprimise the safety of distance for a closer examination. Stupidity is an STD, and DFers are the dirty whores spreading it.

Jilikuil stumbled a bit on his approach. He was more and more of a bumbling fool as he grew worried. He didn't see his Master. He stopped and looked behind himself. He couldn't see his Master.
'What if I'm following the wrong people?' Jilikuil thought. It was a shameful thought, but he reminded himself not to be so much of a crybaby. He turned back to those he was following. They were gone. He had lost them.
Jilikuil ran out into the road and spun around, looking in every direction. He felt shame rise up unbearably inside himself again.
'Master will never forgive me,' Jilikuil thought. He put his hands on his head and walked in the direction that he had last seen the pair go. 'I'll find them. I'll find them, Master.' >:-) To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
