does anyone know anything about them!? every half hour/hour of browsing no matter the site, i always get a popup from then asking if i want to download their program, and even when i hit cancel it still takes me to the site and trys to download anyways, while closing whatever window i was viewing..

was just wondering what the hell its about and if i can do anything to stop it, i already have a popup blocker in place, but it doesnt seem to kill them.

spyware.

it's spyware. download it, and it shoves a whole bunch on your machine. claims to clean up a bunch of other stuff, and then leaves its own.

i just tend to sign and click the X, then press back when it loads the page, or close the window.

but yeah, winfixer is spyware in itself. alot of this stuff is just viruses they put on your machine in order to get you to buy more products of theirs.


some conspiracy nuts even believe that scymantec and mcaffee and the like release viruses of their own and commission the production of viruses so you will buy their anti-virus materials.
