Just tell us what your favorite operating system is, and why.

Mine is WinXP Pro, only because it works when I need it to.

The best OS for the task. I have WinXP running on my gameputer and workhorse, Win2K server on an experimental server system with specs below the required... And I have Linux (2.0.39, FreeSCO) on a 486 to act as a router.

WinXP is the best for gaming, and since most of the video editing progz work best on WinXP it's the one I use the most. Win2k server, I forgot about that when writing what computers I have, now I have to go edit it. Also, I was reading an article on linux, and how some companies are switching, or thinking of switching to it, but compatibility is the main issue. Linux is supposed to be as compatable as Win, but they say that won't happen for another ten years or so. When it does, Linux will be my favorite. Unless Microsoft comes out with something better. I'll just have to wait and see.

i pretty much use my Win Xp Pro system for gaming and Linux for everything else. well unless i can get the game working in Linux.

Win 98 and Win XP pro. Xp is stable and 98 works with old programs(dos games).
