My sound card won't play midi. Only Quicktime will play them on the browser plug - in. Please help me.

Hmm. I'll need a bit more info than that. What soundcard? What drivers? Have you checked your volume settings to make sure Midi is not muted? Have you updated your soundcard drivers to the latest version?

It's an ESS1969. It's kinda old. For some reason it will only play midi from links on the internet. I have all the latest drivers and everything and I have done everything possible to get it to work it just won't.

Hmm... It could be you are trying to route midi music trough the external midi interface (MPU401 interface) instead of the software synthesizer. Check your advanced sound options and windows control screen for where to set it.
