| SonyAcid Studio -
08-20-05
So I am using Sony Acid Studio to make me some electronica music. Does anyone here know of it or maybe have an idea of where to get more loops. I need more loops and ripping them off CDs is a lengthy process.
I love this studio though. Unlimited tracks and a very easy user based system. I have been looking for a studio for a long time and I think i have found the best out there at this time.
Soooo Loops anyone??? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. S.O.D. What format does the program accept? AIFF? WAV? MP3? REX? If it's loops you are after I have a plethora that I could send you on a CD, if you'd like them?
I use Logic and Reason for my music. Reason is the main hub for setting up loops and basic sampling. I use Logic for my audio tracks and sequencing.

Dy, PM your Addie and I'll knock the CD up for you

Dy, PM your Addie and I'll knock the CD up for you | Cool. That is exactly what I am looking for. I am eyeing a very nice Roland Keyboard as well. But I cannot afford it right now. Its very expensive. Its time i put my damn expensive Sound card to use To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. S.O.D. I've had a few keyboards in my time. A JD800, SY85, JUNO 106, SH101, MOOG, KORG X3 to name a few. I looking for a new controler keyboard so I can control all my filtering within Reason on the keyboard itself.
There are some good budget options out there...

If you try and get a copy of Fruity Loops, it is a reasonably good program for creating drum loops, you have complete control over the BPM, a massive selection of drum samples and the ability to export the loops as single bar or multiple bar patterns in the time sig of your choice in *.wav or *.mp3
Incidentally, for beats, compressing the fuck out of kick drums with a slightly open attack gives you uberpunch on them and to get the right release, divide 60,000 by the tempo in BPM, say 120 per minute, and then keep dividing the number you get by two until it is between 50 and 100...
For snare and toms, you can change the sound by gating and adding reverb until you find what you're looking for... Sometimes a little compression works wonders on toms and snares as well...
Low Pass roll offs can give Hats more sizzle and clarity as well...
Even though a lot of people are going over to pure digital set ups, I honestly think that if you've got some cash, spend 100 dollars on a Behringer Compressor and about the same on an EQ unit, because there is no doubt about it, mixes with analogue elements do seem to sound warmer and more pleasing in the end...
I was working in a studio last year with a MAC G5 running PRO Tools, meant to be the fastest audio computer ever built, and yet by the time it had loaded in your Pro Tools mix, the style of music you were working on was no longer in vogue. Also, it crashed constantly... In my own studio I have a PC running Cubase 5.0 and Cool Edit Pro With MAudio Delta 10 10's uplinking from a 24 track Spirit Studio into an AMD Athlon 2000XP PC with 500 Meg DDR, none of this stuff is particularly expensive now, and it does the job great... PC's are much easier to upgrade and repair than MAC's... Fast Hitting Liquid Eating

Macs are a bane of mine. I would rather have a capable PC any day. I am running an Athlon XP2800 with 1G Of ram. It does the job excellently.

I am going to have to stick with a pure digital set-up for now. | Roger That... There are some great digital plugins out there too...
I never really took to the MACS myself... I like the open hardware configuration in PC's...
I've still got an old synth like that... A Roland Juno 6... It's a horrible old thing really, but great for adding something a bit unexpected to a mix... Fast Hitting Liquid Eating

I meant to say, if you're skint but also worried about not breaking the law, the Demo version of fruity loops has the save function disabled, but it still lets you export wav and mp3 if I remember rightly without a serial number... Fast Hitting Liquid Eating

Nice deep tonal textures and high pitch whines!!! Makes me want to listen to some Construction Time Again era Depeche Mode!!!
I am looking for something old and cheap. Maybe have to visit a used music store and see if they have any old synths. Always good to have a cheapo casio as well just for the lighthearted stuff To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. S.O.D.
