Stupid Problems with Ctrl, Alt, Delete (Not working anymore, info request) - 12-14-05

So heres the deal...

I like to turn off background programs from time to time in my task manager. Ya know, to make things run a bit smoother/faster. Now The issuse isn't what I turn off but why I can't get my task manager to open anymore. I do the whole control alt and delete thing and my task manager don't come up.

More details:
Just got back online via free months with AOL. Old vision 8.0
Started downloading stuff with limewire (always a bad idea when you don't have protection for your comp)
Messed around with downloaded programs from limewire (Never a good idea)

And now when I turn on my computer it wants to open either limewire or AOL or both as soon as windows starts and ctrl, alt, delete don't work!

I have AOL geting me some (I'm sure shity virus blah blah blah programs) now. Reinstalled limewire. Tryed to refresh back to last known good config. Nothing is working so far but as I said AOL is downloading some virus crap for me now.

In the meantime is there anything I can do to reactivate my task manager, or is there a way I can go to the start menu and go through run to get task manager back???

Any help will be super sweet!

Thanks peeps.

Ok so heres an update:

AOL virus crap was downloaded and as it turns out I had a virus. The AOL crap took care of it and now I can use ctrl, alt, del again for my task manager. It seems to slow my computer a bit though, the virus program. As did Mc-whatever did. Stupid limewire, I'm sure I got the virus from there. Isn't that always the case?

Oh the joy of starting a thread that gos nowhere again. Its nice to be back here again a bit.

To any that care, visit me at my other thread in friends. But still feel free to comment on the subject in this here one as well. information is information and it still may help me and others that may view.

Thanks again

I am currently running "F-Secure" as my anti-flu medication.. linked from the windows updater. It gives you six months free trial.
Barely noitice it most times.. But when i' going through the router (so the kid can get online on his puter too) , I do notice that it takes longer to decide if somethings bad or not..

I will say that it found lots of stuff that norton never noticed.. or spyware for that matter..

I have lime-pro as well.. Not a virus yet.. just stupid page poppers from vids that i download..

Beware the ex's.. They ARE out to get you...

Nice guys finish last
It isn't just a saying.. It's a fact of life!

Those things that produced your ex......you know, the bitchmakers! Metagion

My husband says that you have a missing .dll file.
In order to get things working you'll need to try to prepare Windows with your installation disc. Repairing- you won't lose all you information.

But if that doesn't work- then you have to re-install Windows, also meaning that you'll lose all your information.

By the way we accept pay pal- that'll be $39.99

Have a nice day.
