care to explain how to increase the network speed in linux?

You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

are you having a specific issue?

When I first switched to the 2.6 kernel series I had a big problem with DNS resolution.

Yeah, you have to be a little more specific, otherwise all I can suggest is doing the same things you do in Windows to get faster network speed. Buy a faster ethernet card, network hub, or internet connection, depending on which bit you want to make faster.

There is an issue with Fedora Core (FC) though, that for some reason makes some sites (this one, godaddy, many many others) load really slow no matter the browser. The easiest solution I've found for this is to simply not boot the newest kernel which has the problem (or rather, probably doesn't work so well with the other networking programs in FC). The main solution I've seen is to switch off IPv6, but to be honest that doesn't fix as much as just using an earlier kernel.

Thanks. Find out exactly what to think, next.

I'm afraid I've left this forum, please read
