EntertainmentDiscuss my work computer sucks! in the Discussions forums; don't cringe....it's a pentium two, hp vectra running windows nt(this may be a stupid question ) but it will not open a majority of threads on the ...
don't cringe....it's a pentium two, hp vectra running windows nt(this may be a stupid question) but it will not open a majority of threads on the forum...my options and pms are not an issue, a few threads are okay and will open as long as they are not more than a page full(sometimes)and i can reply just fine to those or make new threads, but there are some it won't open, it locks up after just a few posts loaded and windows just keeps turning(does not give a not responding error in task manager), and then prevents me from going to other threads...i have to completely close out of the forum re entering until again i select one of the threads(it varies) and then repeat the process...any ideas?

My work comp sucks in here too. Actually today i was trying to post stuff, and it would just remove what i had typed, haha. Oh well, i know its just cause the computer i was on was a peice of shit, i think it was like an AMD @ 300MHZ or something
Sounds more like a connection problem to me. Have you applied the "slow loading" patch (sticky in this forum)?
Otherwise, you could try and tweak your network a bit. I've had sites lock up because of wrong networking settings... I'll see if I can cook something up

well they have tried to block us from so many things on that network, like chats, mIRC etc...so i would not be suprised if that has something to do with it

It's your work computer? Can you download another browser? You might need an newer addition that excepts cookies. I think you can change your personal settings so cookies don't matter.
for me, its not worth it, i can only get on here on my lunch from work, and that is only 30 mins, so usually i just read anyways, i can wait till i get home and use my own lil baby to do posting
