tonight my nephew tried to explain something called matrix shopping to me. according to him you go to some site where they have tons of products, everything from the new gameboys to alienware computers, for super cheap prices. he said the new gameboy was like $35 and an alienware comp was only a few hundred bucks. the catch is (if i understand it right) is your name is stuck onto a list and each list has a certain number assigned to it (this is what he called the matrix) and that determines how long you had to wait to get the product. for instance:

if your matrix was, say, 5 for the gameboy. you pay them $35 and get put on the list. now you don't actually get the item until 4 other people buy onto that matrix.

he said it can take anywhere from a few weeks to 7 months to get your shit.

does anyone know what the fuck he's talking about? i don't have any example sites, but i'm trying to figure out if this is a scam before he goes and wastes his money on shit.

Wait wait, what? I think I kind of understand, but wouldn't you have to pay imidiatly? Or do they get to pick a product and pay for it whenever the hell they want?

I have heard of something like this. They are very annoying little ads. They get you to sign up and you get a very cheap price, just as you were saying. But the catch is, you have to get, say, five other people to buy under you (You have to give them the link and they buy the item.) This keeps going on and on because every person has to get 5 more people, kind of like a pyramid. Does this sound familiar?

Pyramid schemes are decidedly dodgy from what I hear, scamming people out of their money.

yeah, it's a total pyramid scheme. i'm still trying to get him to show me a site that has info on it... of course it doesn't help that every time i see him i forget to ask.

Write it on your hand? Or on your forehead, so you don't have to ask him verbally.
