We have a canon s520 printer hooked up to a pc at work. It seems to have an intermitant issue where when trying to print form the netscape email it will pop up a printer status window, a regular print window and a canon background print monitar. when all these windows pop up the printer freezes and will not continue to allow printing in any form. At this point you have to hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to get rid of the said windows. we have tried all but uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for the printer. Now the printer worked for a couple months before this started to happen.

it's a windows 98 se system running the netscape 4.77 program and email. we are not really sure if it is an email issue or a netscape issue. any help here would be grateful

Sounds to me like a spooler error. But it's impossible to say... Since I don't work with these printers.

Have you tried the Canon helpdesk?

ok it turns out that you can print from other programs other then netscape. i have upgraded netscape to 4.77 and it still seems to freeze whenever you try to print from there. I am down to really 2 options, go and use outlook express or try something like eudora. My boss still would rather like to use the netscape email though this is just pissing me off to no end. any ideas on what i should do to this thing other then kick the crap out of it?

Try contacting Netscape support. Might be a known problem.
