Make the background all black without having my face looking funny and without corners, and increasing the contrast making the background more black and my face more pale. And not making it look too sythetic.

An acquaintance from my school loaned me burned copies of the entire Hellsing seriea of Anime. Fucking keen, or so I thought, then I popped one of the CD's in my drive. My computer nearly froze and a pluggin was removed somehow.
Now my CDROM drive will not read any cd's.

Can someone help me correct this problem with my computer?
