One cannot build thier own G5 system so Athlon wins hands down because you can build your own customized Athlon XP system--- including very soon a duel processor 64bit FX system Which I might add will blow doors off of anything Apple has to produce You can even add your very own operating system if you do not like Windows XP. More flexibility than Apple and customization beyond anything Apple can add equals a better all around system when building an Athlon PC

You forget also dyshade that some are even experimenting with tripple processor systems in PCs especialy athlon 64 fx's. Even a single 64 fx has been proven right now to out preform by far any other processor on the market with no contest. Infact the only media I have seen an apple system garuntee to outpreform pcs is use of CAD (computer aided drafting) programs. Beyond that PC is a farm more versatile and pwerfull platform as Ive seen.

I did not mention that because it is experimental while duel processor Athlon 64's motherboards should be hitting the market within the year

still makes for a hell of a fun outlook on the future for PC and I can only imagine at the things a platform like that should be able to do. Running a full time server out of your house on just a normal pc should be more stable then ever with that kind of power (depending on memory capability)

by then ... the athlon 64 will no longer exsist
