getting a runtime 429 active x can't create object on a windows 98 computer. i have updated the script and registered it and still am getting the error. anyone have any ideas what else it could possible be?

I had this problem once... I recall fixing it by reinstalling the java VM and the internet explorer. Could also be a version conflict: Update IE to 6.01?

i am unable to do that. at the moment the computer is going through a defrag though if that doesn't wok i will probably do what you suggest

ok Aeturnus, the error is coming up at work when a client pc is trying to access a program that is off of one of the servers. It doesn't seem to depend on IE or Netscape from the way it looks it opens into a window of its own. though i have defragged the system and such the program still doesn't seem to want to load and i keep getting the same error over and over.

Check if it will run on other computers, and verify it is properly installed... Do you mean with "client pc" that -any- Win98 pc will give this error or just one machine?

it was just one machine. finally got pissed off with it and reloaded it. seems to work fine now. damn GM and there retarded updates
