Whats the band you wish would fall off the edge of the world? What the song that you wish would be forgotten?

Most pop music. It's not that I disrespect people for liking it, because that's their choices, but.. I don't know, something about the way everything in it sounds, there's no substance to it. So, I'd get various pieces of rope, tie all the pop-stars together with it, take a large stone, and throw it off the cliff. Hopefully they wouldn't float to the top.

the worst song i can think of in recent memory is that Lit song, the one where he sings all off key "can't we JUST forGET aBOUT the THINGS i said when I was DRUNK.." whatever, that song is awful... other bands that need to go:

bands that shamelessly rip off Pearl Jam/Alice In Chains and their ilk (i.e. Godsmack, Creed, etc)

Mall Metal (i.e. Disturbed, Union Underground, Slipknot)

Mall Metal that thinks it's goth (i.e. Kittie, Coal Chamber)

Rap Metal (which is neither) (i.e. Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock)

Tori Amos

Hip Hop centred around gluttony (i.e. anyone on No Limit or Cash Money records)

Eminem

"Experimental" bands that release unlistenable noise as opposed to real music that everyone pretends to like because it's pretentious (i.e. Merzbow, Aphex Twin, Autechre)

Anything involving Bill Leeb after he left skinny puppy (Front Line Assembly, Delerium, Intermix, etc)

Din_Fiv

Whiny Chick rock bands, especially that pretend to be about female empowerment but mainly rely on being sex objects as a marketing ploy (i.e. L7, Babes In Toyland, and again, Kittie)

and on and on and so forth and so on.

Please don't bash me, but I hate Alice Cooper. The song ''School's Out'' is certainly a classic, but most of his stuff sucks. He is a disgrace to rock in my opinion. Also I hate his poor imitation, Marilyn Manson. What a cheesy, spooky-wannabe, ''scary'', ''evil'' faggot...

Of course, I hate pop. No offense to the people who listen to it, I have friends that listen to pop, but I cannot listen to the music myself.

DJ's who think they're legitimate recording artists when all they do is mix together other people's music and put their name on it (i.e. Paul Oakenfold, Scott Henry, etc)

what is mall metal?

"Mall Metal" is a term i use for the sound developed by bands like Korn, and emulated by bands like Slipknot, Union Underground, Powerman 5000, Kittie, Coal Chamber, etc. You know, music that kids these days consider metal, when it's really just watered down crap. Trendy music dug by kids who think they're tough or cool because they listen to "metal" when if they heard or saw something like say, Cannible Corpse or Slayer they'd piss themselves. Kids who hang out at the mall, hence, Mall Metal.

I exclude KoRn from this list however, as i have at least a modicum of respect for them... don't much care for their music anymore, but at least they came up with the sound. Further, i feel they're actually genuine, and not some contrived "metal" band created by a record company.

Bands I feel have unjustly been dubbed mall metal: Fear Factory, Static-X and Dope
