Congratulations for falling into the stereotype trap! Why are you protesting stereotypes when you're making them yourself? Assuming that all rap is about "the hos" or "the money" or whatever. It's kind of ironic really..
Also, I don't think a lot of "metal" has something "usefull" to say. Take Black Metal for example.. and some of the national socialist bands. I don't think they are providing a useful message. Nor do I feel that a lot of the more mainstream "metal" bands, with their angst filled glossy music have a useful message. So.. the rap that you're talking about is just the same as that to me.
Also.. stereotyping is an institution. You can't avoid it, it'll happen. The best thing to do is to stop caring, stop trying desperately to avoid it, and stop doing it yourself.

yeah and i mean after all music is just for entertainment only. i might not be 100% right on this and it's okay to disagree with me on it as well. with the kind of statement i am making right here. but this is just the way i see it to be.

That rap still is theyre but not mainsstream people would rather hair about partying in a club drinking crystal as people suffering in africa. or am i wrong?

there is some rap out there that is actually sending important messages to the youth of Tanzania in trying to deliver a message of hope and keeping them in touch with their roots. not that i listen to rap but i heard them once on a cbc radio hour. personally i like System of a Down. My Fav. band in the world. along with Spineshank and Disturbed.

I think most rap is garbage and i have no tolerance for "nigger this and nigger that" if people want to go on tv and girate and talk about how much "bling" they have after selling their "ho's" and how many other "niggers" they shot that's that artists perogative but you won't see me spending money on any of their cd's. lucky for them there are alot of people who do
