lol Somehow, IMHO, I wouldn't lump Wagner in there (that is "romantic")...not unless you are some huge Viking into S/m. I just don't think of Wagner in that sense.
Since I really am not feeling the 'romance thing' (esp. not in the physical sense), I will just mention three of my faves, who you didn't list...
J. S. Bach
Camille Saint-Saens
Tomaso Albinoni
I think that Saint-Saens' "Le Cygne (The Swan)" from Carnival of the Animals, and Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor for organ and strings are some of the most beautiful pieces ever written. That's just my opinion. "Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people."---C. G. Jung | |

yeah, i wish they didn't limit options to 10. still, i always considered bach more... oh, what's the word?... baroque? yeah, maybe that's it. i love bach too, and if i considered him a romantic, he would be on the list and he might have got my vote, too.
and as to the others, i just tried to put the biggest names i could think of. like i said, i couldn't put them all there. O divine art of subtlety and secrecy! Someone in my class is an absolute Bach FANATIC...she loves him. I bet if he was alive she'd try to marry him. She is about like 10 years older than me and told me she was raised on nothing but classical...we had time to discuss some music during our breaks and stuff. Actually I had been telling her the different things I like, and I am going to tape her some Yngwie Malmsteen because the whole metal/classical crossover thing sort of intrigued her during our discussions (I listen to a variety of different types of music). I consider him a composer too, not just some aging metalhead guitarist. Before him I don't recall many of the other guitar god guys mentioning that their main influences were Bach and Nicolo Paganini. I really like his stuff, and thought the project he did with the Czech Republic Orchestra was awesome.
