What do you listen to when you are sad, angry, upset, depressed?

I usually listen to Moby when I'm sad or Muse. And I listen to Staind or Marilyn Manson when I'm angry, they make me think 'Fuck the world I'll do what I want'

When I'm sad I listen to Grieg's "Death of lucrece" The stringsin there are absolutely haunting.

It rarely matters to me, I listen to all of my music all of the time. My mood just affects how I interpt the message of the artist... or decides if there even is one.

Sad/Depressed/Upset - The one and only time I will listen to Staind for more than 1 song at a time. Depending on the type of sad, Dashboard Confessional too. Aeris' theme (orchestral) from FFVII

Angry - NIN, Slipknot, NMS04, anything with power behind it. Savior Sephiroth from FFVII

There are a lot of bands I'll listen to whenever anyway.

I'll also play some of my stuff on my keyboard. I'll do this all the time anyway, and I have stuff to fit whatever mood.

All good choices, and all things I can't listen too when depressed...it's just too depressing. I remember sitting on the floor for 12 hours straight, listening to Black Sabbath's Laguna Sunrise (instrumental)...I almost killed myself.

When I get really down, I play Megadeth, maybe Metallica...throw in some death metal (Slayer, Testament, Celtic Frost), and get pissed off...that way instead of wanting to die, I feel like killing those who betrayed me...more powerful, more in control...but hey, that's just me.

When I'm mad (knew I forgot something last post), I like to listen to

Virgin Steele's Invictus, House of Atreus act 1 - Kingdom of the Fearless and House... act 2 - Wings of Vengeance (full albums). Books of Burning has a few nice ones too.
Well-thought out, complex music to take my mind off whatever's troubling it as well as adrenaline factor.

Manowar. If I want to lighten up a bit. These guys are so cheesy it's impossible to remain angry while listening to them. Good adrenaline rush music, too.

When I'm feeling mellow, I'll turn on "Bother" from the spider-man soundtrack. I just like it.

But I when I wanna listen to music for emotion, I don't try specific songs, but song types. I got a lot of music so depending on what I want, I'll listen to dark, country, rock, angry, rap, sad, reggae, soul, etc. etc.

I got a lot of music. But my songs in rock section out weigh songs in my reggae section five to one.

When I'm sad, I listen to a variety of things. When I'm sad and listen to black metal, my sadness changes to a mix of righteous self-confidence and quiet anger. When I'm sad and listen to weird electronic stuff, I usually feel better. When I'm sad and listen to Radiohead. I uh.... stay sad

when im angry i listen to the old deftones and rage against the machine and tool.

But when im sad i listen to my dying bride... my favorite is the trash of naked limbs....

Music is my link to reality when i need to escape, i couldn't live without it.

I like to listen to The Gathering, Within Temptation, various trip-hop (portishead, sneaker pimps, morcheeba), real chill stuff (ninja tunes, dj food stuff), etc.....

I listen to happy songs. This way I come back to being normal right away.

when sad, i lean towards simon and garfunkle, fiona apple, tori amos, beth heart, the beatles, and nirvana. and when i am angry...marolyn manson, NIN, and anything that sounds angery. and whe happy, the jackson5, simon and garfunkle, the beatles, aaaaaaaand....the bloudhound gang..i know im a dork.
