The best year in for music would have to be 1995. Korn just came out, NIN releases The Downward Spiral, Manson is writing AntiChrist Superstar and pop music hadn't reached its annoying prime... what a wonderful year for music.

I'd say 1992 because that's when grunge came into existence and pop metal came crashing to it's knees.

It would be nice to see Dee Snider kick the shit out of Kurt Cobain, but there was nothing glam about Twisted Sister. Twisted Sister was next most shock provoking band after Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper.
