I am just a bit curious about the musical tastes of the people in this board. I am not going to instult anyone about their tastes, I like what I like and I hate what I hate but everyone should listen to what s/he pleases....just tell me what are your favorite music genres and some bands/artists...whatever it may be...rock, goth, metal, pop, easy listening, hip-hop, electro, dance etc. Whatever...I love music and I think that it is a strong element of each person's personality and feelings and by your replies I might understand several things... You are forever in my heart you never died...
You are forever I still wonder where you are...
I know you are dreaming...I know you are at peace
I'll meet you in the dreamtime...Whenever you're calling I'll go under...
I'll swim through you...
You are forever in my heart you never died...
I know you are dreaming...neon black

Wicked Lady...variation in music tastes is good, I applaud you for this. Personally I listen to almost everything from Classical Music to brutal death metal like Morbid Angel It just depends on my temper...if I am relaxed I will put the Moonlight Sonata by Bethoven...if I am pissed I will put 'Lunatic of God's Creation' (I'm sure you now it) You are forever in my heart you never died...
You are forever I still wonder where you are...

Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews Band, REM, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Doors, Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Eminem, Shaggy, Busta Rhymes, Dr. Dre, Mariah Carey, Dido, Enya, Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, Beatles, Tapping the Vein, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Motorhead, a bunch of others...those are some of my favorites but I listen to a lot of diffrent stuff, my favorite type of music though is probably Rolling Stones-Led Zeppelin era rock. My favorite singer is Mariah Carey. Tsk tsk, so ungoth...and I only have two Cure songs on Napster...shame, shame... When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

Silver Moondragon obviously lets MTV dictate her taste in music. The thread could have been called "What bands does Jay hate?" and your answer would have been perfect.
Here's my long, long list-
At the Gates, In Flames, Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquillity, Amorphis, Children of Bodom, Edge of Sanity, Arch Enemy, Testament, Dissection, Ablaze my Sorrow, A Canorous Quintet, Dismember, God Dethroned, Gardenian, Hypocrisy, The Haunted, Gates of Ishtar, Meadow's End, Quo Vadis, At Dawn They Sleep, Afflitus, Bolt Thrower, Benediction, Buried Dreams, Carcass, Ceremonial Oath, Misery Loves Co., Covenant, Little Dead Bertha, Metallica, Megadeth, Nine Inch Nails, Faith No More, Lard, Life of Agony, Pantera, Mr. Bungle, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Dismember

I saw Nevermore open for In Flames twice. The music is pretty good but I can't take their singer. What else do you like?

First of all, when I say a music is commercial I DON'T say that it's not good. I am not bashing anything here. I just want to say things with their names. Commercial music is mainly pop, easy listening music (Madonna, Spears, Christina, Gaynor, Carrey etc), mallcore (Korn, Limb Bizkit, Deftones etc), alternative rock or whatever is called (e.g. Oasis)...and Metallica. Anyway, most of the things and video-clips you'll see on MTV or you will listen from the Radio are commercial music. You are forever in my heart you never died...
You are forever I still wonder where you are...
I know you are dreaming...I know you are at peace
I'll meet you in the dreamtime...Whenever you're calling I'll go under...
I'll swim through you...

I don't believe anyone really listed any commmercial music as you define it. And how is something commercial simply because it's popular? So to be original you inherently have to suck? Is this what you're saying? When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

You're assuming the people listening to popular music have good taste with that last argument.
