i personally think that tool is soooo much better than a.p.c. but it only matters to me what i think so lets hear what you think

I like both, but given the choice, I would choose Tool.

Most definitely tool. No contest. Well, with the exception of that CD they just released that came with a video. It's very boring.

You ever heard the Replicants? It's a little side-project of Maynard's. They only did cover songs, though.

on a related subject, Failure's cover of DM's "Enjoy The Silence" is much pimpness.

Actually, Alliance, you might be right. I can't remember if Maynard was the frontman or just made some guest appearance(s).

And yes, Failure's "Enjoy the Silence" cover is great.

Tool... no question... even though sometimes people have a tendency to overcritize performers/bands and say about pretty much everybody, "Their old stuff is sooooo much better than their new stuff" just because they're posers and they hear other people saying that about bands it actually IS true about, I would definitely rate Tool #1 over A Perfect Circle... Maynard's new project just doesn't have that same "ring" that his last one did.

Technically, it's not Maynard's project; it's Billy's. Maynard just wanted to sing the stuff. That would explain the big sound difference.

Personally I prefer A perfect circle. It seems softer and nicer sounding to me. but i'm not complaining about tool. i have albums by both in my collection of cds... they're both great.
