at what point should a band retire? there are bands that have been on the scene for what seems like forever (u2, rolling stones, aerosmith, metallica) and are still trying to put out new music and/or tour. when should they finally throw in the towel and who do you think is currently one of these bands?

I hate when old bands like KISS say they are gonna retire, and I find out about it and tell people, and then they come out with a new album six months later, and I look like a fucking dumbass, KISS needs to die soon....

I think that U2 and the Rolling Stones for sure. I have a hard time thinking of any decent songs by either band and I'm really sick of seeing Mick Jaggers wrinkled ass singing. Just my opinions so please no stoning me.:p

...should have thrown in the towel 9 years and 50 nudie bars ago. The suck the mother of all c**ks. Age is not the question. If you can continue to produce great music into your 40's and 50's, then by all means do it. Al of Ministry is still doing it, and he was born in the mid-1950's.
