Absurd? They are from Thüringen. Thüringen is in the east of Germany. Do you know Eisregen from Thüringen? They are IMO the best German- singing metal act (another good one are Totenmond).

We have only two bigger black metal bands in our area: Mystic Circle and Isegrim. Don't know if you know them.

One of my favorite German "black metal" bands would have to be Bethlehem (especially SUIZID).

I heard of them, the older albums are reported to be really sick, but I never listened to anything of them. And the new album is crap, as far as I know.

But you should really try Eisregen's "Krebskolonie" (cancer colony). "Leichenlager" is also a morbid masterpiece, although it is less "black metal". I haven't listened to the new one "Farbenfinsternis" yet, but I think I'll buy it soon.

Hmm, I'll try and see if I can find anything by them, thanks. I can't speak for Bethlehem's most recent album but from what I heard it was ok but not as good as the old stuff. From what people have told me it has more of an industrial flair to it. If you're just getting into them I'd definately recommend SUIZID, though all of the old albums are awesome (some of the vox are a required taste, however).
