So what does the general population of Darkforum think of Slipknot? I first heard them a few months ago, and they have quickly become one of my favorite bands. So in short
they are a cool group .........the most cool of the band is mick lol he rock.....enyway i like thier new cd but i hate the new masks

Slipknot = good
shitty, fabricated radio gods that pay to get their songs on the air. the whole facade with the masks and the prison jump suits has been done, so that pretty much negates their originality. their music is very ramstienesque utilizing only 3 or 4 really heavy chords played in succesion. so, on a hole, they suck.
take em all, take em all, put our back against a wall and shoot em, toe to toe, watch em fall, come on boys take em all.
also, why do they have 8 or 9 members? is it for practical reasons like if one member were to go down from heat stroke on stage another member would pick up his instrament? or is it like that guy from the mighty mighty bosstones that just dances? maybe they have all those guys so if one gets picked off by a 'super fan', like lennon did, they dont have to find another guy to take his spot in the band. they just draw straws to see who plays what.

Slipknot is one of my favorite bands, I love them. They are one of my favorite bands, and Corey's voice is almost orgasmic. The lyrics are great and with all I have heard, I can't say there is a really bad song at all. But I do have to agree, the old masks were better, and I did like the selftitiled cd more than IOWA but you can't easily beat the orgainal. Regardless, IOWA is a great cd and Slipknot is a great band.
