holy crap, they got back together? last i had heard of them they broke up and Ogre(sp) created another band. glad to hear they got back as in my opinion they were one of the best industrial bands to exist

definitely the greatest industrial band. and although it's not strictly just theirs: the remix to 'rodent' on the 'dys temper' album is the finest industrial track ever produced.

Skinny Puppy was one of the originators of industrial and they just changed their sound over the years and by no means were they goth

oh.....the only Skinny Puppy i've heard sounds a lot similar to old school ministry (twitch, lan of rape and honey) which i always thought was a sub-category of goth and the birthing place of industrial......but i dunno......not a big skinny puppy fan......the only goth dude i actually am friends with really fucking loves 'em........but i dunno....not my forte per se

In December 1984 Skinny Puppy released the Remission EP and with that release Modern Industrial Music was pretty much born......
In contrast Ministry released Land Of Rape And Honey thier first "industrial" attempt in 1988 a full four years after Skinny Puppy...... in fact they were following suit....
In early industrial 3 bands play a huge part in its roots..... those bands are Skinny Puppy for its traditional sound...... Throbbing Gristle for its experimentation.... and The Legendary Pink Dotsfor being the first to tread on the precarious ground of synthesized sound.....

i have all of Ministry's albums up to Filth Pig and have listened to them from about 88 on. as i have with skinny puppy. again they are not a goth band but started out as a soft punk band and moved into a moe industrail wave
