Darkforum.com. Darkforum. Dark. Black, gray and red color scheme. Goth-related subject matter littered throughout. Forums overrun by depression, angst, and melancholy....
Yeah, I'm sure enough of us know enough about ska to have a meaningful discussion. But, in my opinion, ska never rose. There were a few bands that got semi-popular for a while, but it's always been boring and - in my opinion - awful. I like the Bosstones, but they're the band that all the "poseurs" like, so I'm totally not ska-savvy.

I think ska rose, but back in the late 70's, real ska.
The likes of The Beat and The Specials were not only great musically, but in a time of racial tension and Nazi skinheads everywhere, the multicultural make up of many ska bands did Britain a lot of good. Jerry Dammers had kids everywhere singing about freeing Nelson Mandela.
I didn't think much of the new ska, and if it rises again, the chances are I'll think even less. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Ska is real big where I live. Most of the youth bands in my area are ska, and a good amount of them are decent. Take my love, Take my land

ska was pretty big back in the 60's and still seems to be a staple in the music of most skinheads...the modern sound of ska i doubt will really take off since it infused with punk...i prefer the older ska myself You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

Nah, it probably wont take off, sadly. A couple of the bands in my area could get pretty far if they really wanted. Take my love, Take my land
Take me where I can not stand.
