I just wnt to see what bands people think are great but never really get recognized for it. In my opinion the most under-rated band is Acid Bath. These guys are great. They really pioneered this newer mix of melodic singing combined with the growling type vocals. Everyone should check this band out.

Who underrates dream theater? Everybody knows that Dream Theater is the shit, you could walk up to some 80 year old woman and be like, do you have any Dream Theater CDs and she would be like yea you fucking idiot, I've got them all.

Don't know if its just because i live in a country where they're not well known, but these guys are great in my opinion. Since i started listening to them a year ago i've met one person who knows them.

Giving Chase, Common Rider and Stretch Armstrong, are all great bands that I think don't get any credit.

motorhead get recognition alright. their famous 'ace of spades' is one of the most well known tracks in history and is used in tv, radio and press all over, all the time. of course there's fuckloads more to them, and they really are one kick ass band

never get press for hawkwind though, most amazing band that lemmy got fired from after he got arrested for possession of drugs at heathrow airport. twas his bass playing, using chords that put them up there of course, gave them something different. they're still kinda underrated.

Steve Earle. Everybody thinks "he did that copperhead road song". Nobody realizes that he has a huge library of incredible tunes. He's an awesome storyteller and songwriter.
