i think mer de noms was a better album for a perfect circle, the thirteenth step is kinda bad. it only has like 3-4 enjoyable songs, and there so repetatoive it gets anoying. anyone else think it could have been better for the ammount of time spent on it?

From what I've heard, Mer de Noms is better. I'm not a huge APC fan, though. Oddly enough, I find that most people who say they truly love APC are people that are completely obsessed with MJK, and love him regardless of what he does.... even though APC isn't his band. Weird.

yeah, thatz true.....it pisses me off when people think APC is maynard's band........anyway, i'm not big on APC either, and the only song i've heard was what i saw on FUSE, and it sucked........and not because if that whole APC/Tool thing......but because the song just sux period

i liked thirteenth step.
not that i didn't like mer de noms, but they're almost different genres of music, and if you listen to thirteenth step expecting a follow up to mer de noms, you're not going to be satisfied.

depends what i want to listen to it for if i was going to relax i would listen to 13th step and if i was going to jump around and be crazy i would listen to mer de mons

I with the last two posts. Its too different. Its like taking (To piss some off) Opiate versus Lateralus. Its just too damn different.

13th Step is a calmer cd, with more melody. The lyrics are a "take it as you will" type, which leaves you to put your own meaning behind the lyrics. Mer De Nomes however has way more of a direct meaning, and with that, a way more "in your face" sound.

And both of them have good songs. I just can't recall the titles for most of 13th Step. 1-4, 7, 10, & 12 are all good on that CD though. Mer De Nomes I like Rose, Magdelana, Thinking Of You, Over, and Orestes (Or however).
