You know, I have had more or less the same signature for months now and it just struck me, do any of you know who The Wildhearts are?

Well for the benifit of those of you who don't know, The Wildhearts are a band from Newcastle, they are a rock band... Easy listening rock band. They are cool too. Download some music by them

I made this thread because you guys must listen to local bands in your areas that you think are cool and deserve recognition. Widen the fanbase, let others listen to their music on here.

I have given some people a few songs by The Wildhearts, why don't you guys tell us about your local bands that you think are cool?

Post your suggestions on what local bands you like and if they have MP3's on the internet or if you can transfer files to other people on here.

As it stands at the moment, I can't really tell you guy that I will be going to a WIldhearts concert at the moment as I am in canada and for the next six months or so, I will be unable to go see them live. I hear that they tour in America though so thats cool.

Another band you guys my like: 3 Colours Red. Now the problem with this band is the fact that they had a bad producer, they have some amazing songs but they are mostly b-sides and I have all of their b-sides on MP3 so if any of you want to listen to one of their songs then just contact me on yahoo or MSN, that goes for The WIldhearts also. The reason I say contact me is because 3 Colours Red songs are really hard to find and it took me months to find all their B-sides... I must thank Peter for the MP3 "This Oprah" as that was the only B-Side I couldn't find.

All Dutch bands are rather local ;-)
But in my friends/clubbingfriends "circle" there are some good bands too.

* Predella Avant > Cold and sacral soundscapes/ambience to triumphant and bombastic orchestral compositions.
The goal of this project is to stimulate the listener's imagination and let them individually discover the story within the music.
Up till now the results/reactions have been very interesting concerning this matter.
One person will find himself wandering the corridors of an unknown temple, whilst the next will find himself on a post-war battlefield.
The listener may even discover something within (or about) themselves.
It's all in the mind of the beholder. One of my fav local bands this!

Cleveland bands suck overall, buuuuut:

Infinite Number of Sounds (http://www.infinitenumber.com) is one of my favorite bands ever ever. It's amazing instrumental rock/electronic stuff, and not in an industrial sense at all. Totally unique. They put on fantastic multimedia shows as well.... give em a listen.

Well, I don't really know if they're consitered a local band anymore. But I've been to numerous Floater shows. They started here many years ago and got a record deal and tour often. Mainly only the west coast though.
