Okay whats with this whole "Limp Bizkit is better than everyone" stuff? I was listening to the new CD (hotdog flavored water) and this one song grabbed my attention. I cant remember the title,but in one part they say "NIN get knocked the fuck out" I let my best friend listen to this,and the next day she brought a NIN CD to school and let me listen to on of their songs (it might be called closer to god,but I'm not sure) But anyways on one part of the song it says "I wanna fuck you like an animal...ect." and I listened to the Limp song and it said "You wanna fuck me like an animal" So...ummm....whats up with this? What do yall think of it? (both NIN and Limp fans...plz)

Trent Reznor had some less-than-nice comments toward Fred Durst in an interview he did with either Rolling Stone or Spin (I think Rolling Stone). I believe his exact words were, "You know, let Fred Durst surf a piece of plywood right up my ass." Fred, therefore, is now anti-NIN, and will write many a stupid lyric in order to demonstrate this.

Trent's quote was taken way out of context. Trent was saying how he likes to fuck with the mainstream. "Let Fred Durst surf a peice of plywood up my ass" was a referrence to Fred's tendency to crowdsurf on a peice of plywood at his concerts. My guess is that trent reznor really doesn't give a second thought about fred durst or limp bizkit, he was just using fred as a metaphor, since he's made no real follow up comments about fred and doesn't have a tendency to speak ill of limp or any specific band.

Fred however, being the egotistical blowhard moron he is, decided that this would be a good publicity stunt. It's not like he said fred durst's work was "boring and uninspired" like he said about FLA (which, i must say, deserves a standing ovation. FLA is overrated shit, but i digress) He simply said an offhanded ambiguous comment. He probably could have just as easily said "Let Jon Davis whip me with his dreadlocks".

The fact of the matter is this: Fred Durst and Trent Reznor are on the same record label. In fact, Fred is senior VP of Interscope, where trent's label, Nothing, is a subsidiary. If he really wanted to, Fred could really fuck with trent. Or, if he truly felt slandered, he could sue him for defamation of character. However, given Durst's need for attention, i'll wager he just needs to take conspicuous potshots at someone more talented than him. you don't see trent reznor coming out at NIN shows saying "Hey Fred Durst, suck my dick!" you know why? Trent doesn't need to prove himself to anyone.

That's a great interpretation, except for it being completely baseless. NIN isn't, nor has it ever been "hate" music. Besides, Fred isn't that deep. He started a one sided Dis war with trent because Fred needed something else to write about in his songs other than the fact his band is called limp bizkit and he wears a red hat.
