I'd have to say Bauhaus, since they first came out way back when during the punk movement, more people were listening to them. Sisters came out in the early 80's and were considered punk/underground in a more 'new wave' culture of the times. I heard Bauhaus on the airwaves more than Sisters, considering they got no airtime what so ever where I live. Caught them on 120 Minutes back in like high school, so many years ago. It seems that the 'gothic' movement of late is more directly related to punk. However they are just labels, and in this day and age anything dark is considered gothic. Cliche perhaps..... All I want is to make a killing
To drill and kill that might be really thrilling
Why are my victims so unwilling
You can be sure that you won't see me
