I hate it when people download music for free. If you like the music enough and respect the artist, then just pay for it!!

song length 4mins 32 sec.
song teaser length 15 sec. or 30 sec.
needed to decide if you like the song? usually about 1min 30 sec.
If i like enough of the CD, i'll buy a copy. If i only like a song or two, i might buy them online provided i can keep a usable copy on my HD that won't dissapear with loss of internet access..
otherwise, i'll borrow it from a friend and burn a copy of the songs i like.
why should i pay anywhere from $9.99 to $29.99 for a bunch of songs when i only want one or two? Beware the ex's.. They ARE out to get you... Nice guys finish last It isn't just a saying.. It's a fact of life! Those things that produced your ex......you know, the bitchmakers! Metagion

eat shit and die RIAA-dick | Wow, I love freedom too, it would be cool if i break into your trailer and steal any moderately expensive items right? I mean, freedom of property and all?
I cant believe people actually still download MP3's illegally, how lame lol... what's the matter can't afford the $.99 to support your favorite band?

Sorry about that. | If you can't get it by paying for then I think it's ok. You can't help it if the music is rare and hard to get.

I only buy the actual album if it's an artist I really really really really like. Or if they have cool album art. Or if I want to add a specific album to my collection.
*Dear FBI, I am not admitting to any illegal acts in the aforementioned post. At no time do I state that I download music illegally.*

Without piracy we'd never be moving towards the new business plan that is emerging where people release their own music to the public completely bypassing labels and RIAA and then asking people to pay what they think is fair.
Bands earn most of their money through live shows anyway. Thanks to the internet, people don't have to pay huge distribution and marketting costs that they used to depend on the labels to do.
Just last week Trent reznor released a CD on piratebay: Saul Williams - 05 - Break.mp3 - The Pirate Bay
and a week before that radiohead released their new CD online for free (or what ever the fans wanted to give them).
It'll be like the radio except you just listen to what you want to when you want to. If you want to support the artist then pay or go to their show.

yes. this is moving into another singles era, like back in the doo wop and early rock and roll days. when albums were only 4 songs long.
there is no theasable reason that a group of shmoes with a big name label should expect me to pay upwards of 30 dollars for a album that just doesnt grasp me from start to finish. if i think they will be worth the dollar amount i will pay to ass to my collection but mostly i will help them get paid by going to see thier live functions and buying merch.
the industry is starting to loose control and thier monopoly on music is going away. thier affraid they wont be rich anymore and they wont have the power to force bands to pre-maturely release albums to meet thier contract deadlines, so we will be getting crap music that had to be thrown together instead of the artist having the proper time to bang out a cd worth of worthwhile material that i can feel comfy dropping 20 bucks on and not regretting it when i put it in my d player at home.
i.e. linkin park shoul fucking take a big dive off a bridge. thier shit sucks because they were a hometown band that wrote an amazing first album and then had to be pushed into writing new songs as fast as possible to make thier deadlines. even though my lp phase grew apart with my youth, it would be nice to hear an actual half decent attempt at another chart and record breaking album from bands such as this...
good thing i can allways count on my nine inch nails, who apparently has made a braod promise to release his new album in a few months for free online just as his saul williams collaboration was done. but i will be making a cash donation for that album. i cant help it, i am in love....... Buy from the artist you respect and love, take from the rest . . . especially when it's hard to find. And there's nothing wrong with downloading, especially not with the way things are going. Most bands want people to download their shit because most bands only make any income from shows, and now, without the middleman in the way, a small band can make a recording (a few hundred, maybe even a couple thousand) then stick it on the internet for anyone to hear . . . not spending thousands upon thousands to make CD's and other shit . . .
Think of this, Radiohead just stuck their last album on the internet, allwoing fans to pay whatever they wished for it . . . and if they wanted it for free, then they could go ahead and download it. Out of respect, people were buying the album, but on average $5.
Downloading music is the new movement for musicians, people that bitch about it need to realize that it's not going to stop, so they just need to play the game.
And $0.99 a song?! Fuck that, if you want the entire album, in some cases it would be cheaper to just buy the actually CD with the booklet. I was masturbating
just contemplating
the color of suicide
