I was just thinking how cool it is to see some of those great bands still around, 10 years from when they all broke the mainstream.

Mudhoney ~ who's new album "since we've become translucent", is as good as anything the've ever produced.

Sonic Youth ~ ...have a new album out("Murray Street") and although I haven't had the chance to pick it up yet, i've heard it's a welcome return to their punk days.

Pearl Jam ~ ..also a new album for them and they've even broke their no video's rule with a clip for their new single.

Nirvana ~ New album on it's way and the video for the new song,"you know your right," is getting heaps of airplay!

...and with Chris Cornell joining the remaining members of Rage Against The Machine and Billy Corgan's solo album on the way, it looks like everyone is making a stand in terms of good music.

That was my era musically, it's what first got me exited about music, so i'm glad they're all still around.

My era was eighties and early, early metallica, early maiden, early Ozzy solo, Early Dio, Sabbath and dio, Sabbath and gillian, Slayer, Raven, early queensryche, Machines of love and grace, fields and sisters and bauhouse, early manowar, early dead kennedy, early xymox, early DM, curte just maturing wow it was a time

I was just a wee lad while all that was going on
Though The Dead Kennedys IS one of my all time fave bands!!!

Argueably the best era of music EVER, so much creativity and so original

Of the early, new '90s bands, the first Stone Temple Pilots is about all I can stomach...oh yeah, and Pantera...And let us not forget the D, Tenacious D....greatest band in the world...although I think they were a bit later.

btw, Dreamer...Sabbath with Ian Gillian..."disturbing the Priest" and "Zero the Hero" are still a couple of my all time favorites.

OH yeah, you forgot Megadeth, Motorhead, Savatage, Twisted Sister, Anthrax, Dokken, Testament, Slayer...oh, the nostalgic juices are flowing now...

Yeah....after Jeremy I meant, they swore they'd never make a video again. Every video after was either live footage or animated(do the evolution).

I remember the video for Jeremy too. I hate that video...the story in it was fine, and all we saw besides that was Eddie...damn egotistical bastard...I hate that guy...last I recall, he had a band, didn't he?

Hehe, sorry man. I'm better now... I have just always hated the Jam, for some reason. Probably some subconscious thing. I think maybe I was overloaded with it. Heard it too much, too often. I did actually enjoy a FEW of their live songs, however, so it isn't a total, all-consuming hatred...just Eddie, I guess.
