| Drum triggers -
10-07-02
Okay, a couple friends want me to drum black metal for 'em. I'm no ubder-drummer, and I know it's cheating but I'll endorse cheating this time. I've heard of..triggers, are they? You kick and it kicks twice or three times or something. Anyone heard of em? Use 'em? Can give me any information on 'em, what I need etc? Thanks guys. Not all black metal must have uber fast kick drums. Get a double pedal and work on bursts, for accenting songs. Listen to white zombies astrocreep album. Their drummer was using mostly dance beats, only a few songs had actual "metal" beats to them. Add some flava to the mix But to actually answer your question, I haven't heard of them, but musicians friend and/or samash might have them. ________________________________

I've never used one; I only use my trusty Iron Cobra double pedal.

I'll check Samash and MF...yeah, I know it doesn't gotta have the insane double bass rolls but I'd like to be able to have that option if the need arises. Double pedals or double bass pedals, Tozz? Becuase they have double pedals which are kick pedals with two heads, kick when your foot goes down, kicks when it comes up. I'm seriously a bit new to drumming...I can drum but I donno all the lingy or equipment yet. I need to find me some of those double pedals. mine aint a down-up stroke, i have a main pedal and a slave. when you hear people talking about double pedals, they will most probably be talking about a main unit with a slave pedal to drive the second beater. check out some sites to lookee.
a heel toe pedal, well i dont think i could do that. and also you should check out the new sonor pedal, which has two slaves and a main unit. its insane!
there are also lots of other amazing pedals, the vruk pedal is absolutely godlike.
i love tama hardware, totally robust, and probably the best out there. in the future with my new kit i am buying i will be getting all tama hardware (other than the unilock clamps for my drums as i need the correct ones of course) all my cymbal stands and maybe (if tama do one, i dont know) my rack system. if not, i will get gibraltar. I love Tama stuff, it's very nice.
This is the type of pedal I'm talking about, I'm thinking about buying it. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/.../base_id/75568 To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. i would suggest, no. with this thing you will not improve your pedal technique, and strength in your legs.
if you learn to single pedal to a fast speed, and then get yourself a slave pedal double pedal, (cheaper too) your techniqye and build your leg up.
as you progress you will be able to do more and more funky beats, more impressive and abstract pedalling and in general, better shit!
but in the end its your choice. If you think a forum is going downhill, you have no-one to blame but yourself.

See, Im not really a drummer, I am to an extent but Im justdrummin for some black and death metal bands. Not really worried about technique, worried about a quick way for double bass. I'll get a dbl pedla and work with it as well (im buying my friends set and his cobra comes with it) but for early on, I want fast double bass without the time constraints. ok well go with the cobra. that way you can get good fast kick playing, and also get ur technique. when youre in a metal band, your technique shows in the music. trust me. well really, in any music, and when you get a good drum solo in a song, people love it. Will do. I'll set the dualizer up on my other bass drum and use the cobra. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
