just discuss deathmetal......

back in the day i used to listen to morbid angel, sinister, and other various death metal bands.......but recently i have been growing really fond of death metal.......i just found out that sinister replaced their singer with a girl......and i just discovered iniquity, and have a new-found love for morbid angel........

so i suppose no one likes death metal?......seriously, what good deathmetal bands are there?

How about Death/Doom? I dont listen to much of any death metal, but I have been getting more and more into bands that are death/doom. The style is a hybrid of death with doom-metal, so much of it isnt exactly death metal. This subgenre as it first started it could be seen as a reaction to the high fast speed of what was going on by bands playing slowly. a lot of people do, the subject's just been discussed in depth on the forum. infact you could probably dredge up an old thread on the subject if you wanted...

I listen to Morbid Angel, Deicide, Six feet under, sometimes Cannibal Corpse, Seirim, Shub-Niggurath, Dies Irae, Nile, and my fav Krisiun. But I prefer Black Metal, because I love it's atmosphere...
If you have never listened to Krisiun, buy "Conquerors of armageddon". High-speed death metal as brutal as it can be.

you have people who listen to death, grind, black, gore... also everyone has their own tastes in what they think id good bad or other. so it's all a matter of personal choice. Why not experiment by downloading songs from bands, or doing your own research into stuff. You might be amazed at what you find.

downloading here is a problem, up to a $2000 fine per song, so i don't chance it....however, my roommate does, so i get to check out some bands.....iniquity is the newest interest........sinister i am curious about......

You dont have to go to kazaa to find a lot of good mp3's to download. There are many bands that put their music on their site and mp3.com Such as with that bandlist link I posted, where it does give links to mp3's of bands if they do have any online.

Asschapel is short death-grind, but it's solid. Ahhh, Gorguts. Jazz-fucked death metal. Hard to listen to but once you get into it your INTO it.

Get the new Zyklon album, it's to death metal what Axis of Perdition was to black metal...the biggest, most needed shot in the arm ever. Mastodon..kinda DM.

Emporor i believe is black metal, not death metal

Emperor are one of the pioneers of black metal, though it was more Prog if anything by the end.

Carcass - Swansong (yawn) There was simply no life left in this band by that point. Some cool riffs, but bland delivery. Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious was their best, though some will argue in favor of the first two albums.

Sinister have been using a female vocalist for a while now and she slays. Her and the woman from Arch Enemy are getting a lot of press, but they weren't the first to do it. Check out Thorr's Hammer and Nuclear Death (the sickest) if you can find them. Also Immemorial.
