I don't really know, i'm not really an expert on bands and talent, I just go by the nice rythm and poetic stanzas...but what do you all think?

Taproot. They're incredible. I saw them live, and it was great. A truly wonderful band.

as for "bands" who do not deserve the recognition they get... try any "group" whose sole function is to harmonize and dance over prerecorded tracks... now this isnt a jibe at electronic music... i spin discs and program myself so i know how hard it is... im aiming all of my fury at pop groups (u know who they are)...

if u cant make the music (or even write it) then u dont deserve millions for standing, singing, and sex appeal

Limp Bizkit! Ahh goddamn they suck ass! Fuckin' Wes plays a 3 string guitar in some of there songs, Fred is a whinning pussy, and the others are just chickens without heads who happen to have instruments. Linkin Park, they suck nuts all around, but the lyrics are kool and the chick in the Crawling video is hotter than shit. Creed, they suck ass and most of their songs are him bitching about how god rejected him or some shit. Umm...who else, jeez, there are so many. All the Pop bands, all the rap bands. Talk about meaningless lyrics. Country too, they are whinning whores. These are just my opinions, so don't jump my ass about them, just fucking take it and shut the hell up.

I don't about now but awhile ago Crazy Town had all the buzz...I can't understand why they ever were popular...And Limp Bizkit has gone to shit too...I can't stand to see Fred Durst anymore...I feel like screaming every time he talks...UGGHH!

Godsmack - completely untalented. Just loud. Guitar parts could be played by retarded monkeys, vocals are neither original nor inspiring, etc.

Kittie - if they were guys, they would have about 3 fans.

Coal Chamber - same as Godsmack.

P.O.D - "Alive" is a 15-second song repeated about 12 or 13 times. I HATE them. Their last album wasn't very good either, though I didn't mind the title track. Their lead singer says he wants P.O.D. to be "the next U2." Good luck, buddy.

Marilyn Manson - duh. God, I love his earlier stuff, though.

Massive Attack - They are truly amazing, always have been. They're music is alot deeper these days though and as such, not as mainstream so that could have alot to do with it.

Senser - They were great, didnt get nearly enough recognition IMO, then disbanded.

tool- people now like um because some one else does and its sad that people can listen to them and n sync in the same day, besides apc is a much better band and they focus more on talent

the doors- no need to say why, it'll just start a fight

and the most overated band is limp bizkit- they should of died before they made the 2nd album, fred is a self serve'n loser that only cares about himself and money, i cant think of who i hate more him or bin laden.

i dont concider all those lil pop boy/girl groups out there over rated, i wouldn't care what a lil 11 year old girl thinks of about some thing deep as music any way so the children can have there fun but i dont think any talented band should be on trl, it doesn't matter how popular a band gets its what the music means to you.

Tool's songs are MUCH more complicated and artistic than APC's, thus demonstrating more talent. I'm not stating an opinion, either; any musician would (or should) agree. Don't get me wrong... I like APC too, but they are by no means more talent-oriented.

Tool is probably one of the most talented bands out there. Especially Danny and Adam. They are way more complex than APC. Although I like APC just as much. Maynard has an awesome voice that fits with the music. And I don't know about fake-clown, but even in concert I can undertsand every word he says. So bands that should die....Hmm... Well, they were pretty much all listed.

TOOL......... hm.....Yes its true....people like them...then other people see other people liking them...so people now like them because everyone else does..... And I'm going to be one of em too!!!! I'm going to give TOOL a chance only because I see people with thier TOOL Shirts and sayings such as TOOL is better than A Perfect Circle and TOoL kicksass......I am a ToOL "Virgin", and I remember this thread where people were given recommendations on what ToOL songs to listen....but I forgot what thread it was......Unlike others, I will listen to ToOL and decide if I like em or not, not just automatically like them because someone else does.

I first heard about them a few years ago and I liked it and asked my friend to burn the cd for me. I first listened to Ænima, then Undertow, and then purchased Lateralus. I haven't yet gotten Opiate. I know a lot of people who say they listen to Tool but actually just know of them through me and my friends. It's really angering when they tell me these things I already know and try to play it off as they are this hard-core Tool fan. Some people like Tool and some don't. I can't belive they were voted #88 of 100 greatest hard rock bands though.
