So how many Shakespeare plays have you read?
I've read 14 so far, and I'm sure I'll read a couple more before the end of the year.
I've read:
The Tempest
Twelfth Night; Or What You Will
Much Ado About Nothing
A Midsummer Night's Dream
Love's Larbour's Lost
The Merchant Of Venice
As You Like It
The Taming Of The Shrew
Anthony And Cleopatra
King Lear
Romeo And Juliet
Macbeth
Hamlet; Prince Of Denmark
Othello; The Moor Of Venice
Any suggestions as to which ones I should read next? Homer: Ah he has all the money in the world. But you know what he can't buy? Marge: What is that Homy? Homer: *Thinks* A Dinosaur!!!

Ive read
Romeo and Juliet (of course)
Hamlet
Winters tale
Julius Ceasar
Richard the third
and Macbeth
I believe that is all, unless im forgetting some plays I read in high school. I've been meaning to read more of his work. Any of those on your list youd recommend more than others for my next read?

You need to read some more of his comedies, so I'd say, As you Like it, and A Midsummer night's dream, they both made my laugh at one moment or another Homer: Ah he has all the money in the world. But you know what he can't buy? Marge: What is that Homy? Homer: *Thinks* A Dinosaur!!!

I've read Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Othello, Julius Caesar, and A Midsummer's Night Dream. I've seen As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing, and The Comedy of Errors.
If you haven't seen or read Julius Caesar, read it. It was amazing.

Romeo And Juliet
Macbeth
Hamlet
Julius Caesar
The Taming of the Shrew You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

I do try to hit up a play once a year, but sometimes I can't fit it into my schedule. Homer: Ah he has all the money in the world. But you know what he can't buy? Marge: What is that Homy? reading a play is like putting 'Die Hard' on, and then blindfolding yourself and just listening.
you may be able to imagine it, what the image of an explosion and bruce willis catapulting a car into a helecopter or something, but most of the benefit is in seeing it acted out before you.
you just don't get the emotion and suchlike.
i go to the theatre at least 3-4 times a year (helps that i live under an hour from london) and i own the soundtracks and such for alot that i see, but it's just incomparable.
even if you're reading the exact stage directions... it's just not as good.
it's like reading nick hornby. i love his books, they're awesome. but seeing them in film format is always much more rewarding.
i realised i might have pissed off some blind people. but i'm sure you agree, being blind puts you at a disadvantage. even if someone tells you how beautiful a picture is, its not the same. (not that many, if any blind people will be reading df with txt2speech)

Yeah, I don't think listening to Die Hard is the same as seeing the action with it, and I see your point when it regards a play, but I do think books are usually better than their movie version, but some film makers do a book justice, but all in all, I guess reading a play is only half the experience Homer: Ah he has all the money in the world. But you know what he can't buy? Marge: What is that Homy? Homer: *Thinks* A Dinosaur!!!

No need to be embarrassed about it, some people like him, or find him difficult, or never got around to it, but if it's you haven't gotten around to it, you still have time Homer: Ah he has all the money in the world.
