when you get a new CD, tell us what you got, maybe why you got it, and what you think of it.
the last 7 or 8 CDs i bought have been electronic music, so tonight i decided i needed more music with guitars.
i ended up picking up fever to tell by the yeah yeah yeahs, because i really love the guitar in the song maps, and then the other day i heard another really good song off the CD, but i can't remember which. i've listened to about half of it so far, and it sounds really good so far. i wouldn't know how to classify it, but i guess some of it reminds me of the white stripes, but not all of it. some of it's a little weird as far as quasi-mainstream alternative stuff goes. i like it a lot.
i've been wanting to hear sonic youth for a while now, but i always hear that some of their CDs are really good, but some a lot less worth listening to. a friend of mine recommended i pick up either dirty or goo, so i got dirty. i haven't really listened to it yet, though.
also, i have a copy of bauhaus's BBC sessions on tape, but i don't have a tape player anymore... i had one in my car, but then i wrecked my car. anyway, i really miss listening to it, so i picked up crackle today. it's a best of CD, which i don't usually like buying, but right now i don't really have the money to go out and pick up all their releases. i've already heard most of the tracks, or at least versions of them, but it was my first time hearing bela lugosi's dead. i don't see why that's their most famous song. i mean, it's decent and everything, but i'd much rather hear double dare or terror couple kill colonel.
also, a friend burned me a copy of hot fuss by the killers. i've only heard the single they play on the radio, but it's decent. i haven't listened to this CD yet either. AIM: hateful teenager DON'T BLOW YOUR TOP! |
