As for the elections... the electoral college is who elects the president. Not the public vote.. Although they want you to 'believe' that your vote counts..

It seems like the government is coming up with higher taxes every year and the money from taxes are not really helping paying the way and there also going to people who don't need it

Although the United States supposedly practices Democracy and what have you, I frankly think its all an illusion to undermine and control the people. I agree with tiggr. The Popular vote does not really have any effect towards the presidency in the end, what determines what president is chose are the electoral votes..Anyhow I think that the US in a whole has some disturbing control issues, they need to deal with before its too late. The US people are part of the problem, due to their lack of awareness of what is truly going on around them. The more we look for trouble, such as creating and going through with our actions without the support, or evidence, the more we are burying ourselves under. I think alot of the actions the US partakes in, are suspiciously valid examples and give you a reason to well enough doubt the true intentions of the country. Such as the ongoing thing pertaining to Africa for example. The U.S has just finished forcing Saddam Hussien out of power, and now Bush is saying that the only way he will help Africa is if their leader steps down. They are a democracy mind you, its all just too fishy for me. But what do I know, I'm not even old enough to vote yet .

Should have seen the "What the World thinks of America" show that was on over here a few months back. Only a few countries votes in a particularly nasty (US being more faviourable about itself then Isreal and UK) way but it was funny to see the gulf of opinion any one country has about itself and how others see it. The few middle eastern countries calling it more dangerous than Al Qaeda was funny in a bit a of a stupid way though.

If fewer Americans fell for their gov's lies, such things as the needless invasions of small countries and the installation of pro-US/corporate/Israel/militarism puppet govs would seldom be tolerated. Patriotism is always used to blind the people to aspirations of empirical powers.

I've read much of it...you have to remember that he's only giving one side of the opinion, which means that you're more likely to quickly agree with what he's saying...There are some things which I like about what he says, but many that I don't.

Chute The Mall: All countries need certain rules, just a few guidelines, to prevent total chaos, but i doubt if there really should be ONE leader to whom we all have to listen, and who has all power...there are so many people disagreeing with Bush, and other leaders, and still there opinion doesn't seem to matter, cuz' elections are just a façade, in reality they don't count...they're just their to lead the people into believing they have a say..
having my opinion about it or not, i AM being ruled, we are all being ruled by everyting around us, and it takes away so much freedom...on the other hand we have control over our own life, and freedom to make decisions...so i prefer not being ruled, and not ruling myself...but that's a utopy..

Many countries want to rule the world? i think many stupid political vultures who, in fact, live thanks to the money we give them to "RULE" our decisions and lands, do so.
If people (and thanks to internet and things like that in this age) raise up and scream their wishes I think many things would be erased from the world.
One of them? of course THIS BORING AND WRONG WORLD SYSTEM,
democracy is over, it is not what it was, it was not what it was supposed to be, it is a compendium of rules, laws and systematical ways to do things and make money.
And money will rule until money is useless, when money is useless we will find something more to give us power, more than the others at least.
And THAT system is what has to disappear.
To dedicate ourselves to know each other and learn and be more ourselves, and to learn from our evolution and our planet is what the humans would have to do to give a meaning to their existence, we are natura, and we have to know that. We got brains to talk and to comprehend the nature code of universe, not to see how morons got stupid paper called "bills" and virtual money and so they make decisions about us and so they got power over us.
I think USA government vultures want it all now, to show their citizens they are the best,and they are the saviours of the world killing the bad morish, and calling everybody terrorist. Terrorism is a very burnt word.
I think, everything has many ways to be seen.
You are the ones who will have the world tomorrow... think, know and then change it!
